SAY Hill Side Villa — Hotel in Lumshyiap

I found this place on Instagram and contacted the host, who kindly gave me the details, offered me rooms with breakfast and dinner at a modest price, and also made arrangements for sightseeing in and around Shillong. I made all the reservations well in advance, paid the advance and made a full payment for the car service, the host was helpful and answered my questions whenever I had any. Likewise, I did not have any trouble checking in, and overall, my stay was comfortable. The room and bathroom was clean, the area quiet, cool and the caretakers were helpful and responsive overall. However, I have major problems with certain things....the food, for one. On the first night, they were clueless about to serve me, apparently their cook was on leave. Now I'm generally a non fussy person so I asked for some roti sabzi...and was served a very watery aloo jhol and roti. Still, that was food and I didn't complain. The next morning, inspite of mentioning that I would need breakfast by 8.30am as I would be heading out, it was past 9 when they served me two pooris, a watery sabzi and liquor tea, saying they were out of milk and atta. My driver had to wait while I scared down the food. That night, there was quite an issue with serving me dinner, saying I could ONLY have veg or chicken thali, because the other items costed more. I will spare the details, except to say that I have never in all these years, been served food as substandard as this. The bread next morning was tossed in a smelly oil, the fried egg looked like roadkill and the tea was without milk again, the thali they served for dinner had literally two spoonfuls each of aloo, dal and two tiny pieces of chicken... The thing is, I didn't go there for their food, but if you're offering something to your customers, try not do such a shoddy job. It's not my problem that the cook was on leave. You didn't have to offer me food with stay either. And to top of off, the host asked me to pay my balance amount the night before I checked out, as though I would run away without paying, and then the caretaker had the audacity to tell me I need to check out because guests were coming at 11am....even though the official checkout time was at 11. I waited for over an hour before checking because the earlier guests still had not checked out, even past 11 am, and they took over an hour to clean the room, but somehow, it was okay to kick me out before time. It's things like these that spoil your entire experience, no matter the beauty of the rooms of the place....

We booked 4 rooms since a month ago for proper super dulex room but when we reached the receptionist updated that they have only dulex room available so we agreed because we were very tired but we saw the room it's was so dirty and smelly and Cockroaches and bed bugs in the whole room and also its smelling so bad Also there was a fungus in the bathroom and its so dirty can't even take bath So when we asked for help to the receptionist they were so rude and didn't helped us and told when she can do with this as we reached late night we cannot changed the room Room service is also not good

As per my experience don't believe in photos as they showed in Booking status not at all same Totally different even the room walls are so...

This is a 6 room bunglow. All rooms have attached bathroom, with all amenities that one might need. Functional kitchen, very strong wifi. Eva, Monalisa and Lucy are there to cater to your needs if any. Lucy is a very good cook.

This bunglow is at a walking distance to a picturesque golf course. There are shops around, if you need to buy something and cook in the kitchen. In the evening, the valley view with well lighted houses makes the view very beautiful.

For Police bazar you will easily get a cab for 30rs per head and the commute is short and easy.

There is parking space for a couple of cars too.
