The nightmare of life. Staying here on 07.12.2017 was just by chance. I surfed online for a decent hotel for short stay in Chiplun and without devoting much time I booked this hotel telephonically as I didn't had time to check reviews (could have avoided the horribly unpleasant stay had I gone through them before undertaking booking). Right from the loosely fitted door lock and a partially broken door entire furniture toilet fittings were in deteriorating state. There was stinky moist smell of the unclean room. The bed was looking like an old scrap which has been improvised. The pillows were having stains, the towel was torn, all the bathroom taps n fittings were dirty n leaky, the shower was too rotten and leaky that one can't even see it spraying, there was no tissue roll provided. I anyhow managed to spend the night with mosquitoes but the height of my patience reached its peak which I can never forget in my entire life was when I was provided with so called complementary breakfast which is just either bread omelette or poha. I opted for bread omelette and when i took the first bite, I got shock of life. There was a COCKROACH sandwitched between bread and omlettee. On reporting the matter to reception boy, all I could see was a short term surprise and rechecking the cockroach along with the cooking staff. That was end of it. Not even a single word of apology from so called INTERNATIONAL hotel staff was expressed. I am writing this review by taking out my valuable time only to see that nobody is victimized in this $h... t hotel ever. BEWARE OF...
Read moreShalom is a way of greeting in Hebrew when 2 people meet. True as someone wrote below, what a location wasted.||||I stayed there recently and was attended by Anuja (the owner's daughter). True, she is a good host and she speaks Hebrew (she went to Israel for 1 year, to study the language), but if she is reading my comments, she should have taken care of so many negative reviews that have been written on this wall.||||I stayed there as I was part of a motorbike expedition and we were stuck mid-way. So, we had no choice as the trip organiser recommended this.||||Well, here are my comments,||1. Right from the reception to the stairs and the rooms, every place & corner is badly lit and looks so ghostly.||2. The toilets are so badly stained that one can never get to empty his/her bowels.||3. No basic toilet rolls or tissues provided. Some light switches don't work.||||The only plus is the food, which is good.||||Anuja, if you are reading this, please buck-up or your hotel will soon be a...
Read moreI have stayed at this hotel several times as it is half way between Bombay and Goa. The rooms border on the acceptable if you have no other option, but if you arrive at the end of their renovation cycle they can be disgusting. The staff are lazy and unhelpful, with the exception of the long-serving security guard.||||On my last visit, I was offered a 'discount' room for a special price of Rs 3,400! When I laughed, they dropped the price to Rs 2300. This was still too much for a room not worth more than Rs 1,500. They refused to show me a pricelist and told me to look on the internet. Naturally, internet is not available at this hotel.||||The hotel was named 'Shalom' (welcome in Hebrew) by the Israeli owner and her husband. They should think of a more appropriate name. If you need to visit Chiplun, I recommend you try the far better and cheaper Hotel Pagoda in Lote or the newly opened Hotel Oasis which is 500 metres away...
