Circus in a Dated Relic!
We booked here with high hopes of getting a luxurious stay experience as we assumed the WELCOMHOTEL brand would be ensuring its guests are treated to one. However we were disappointed by almost all aspects of the property - except the fantastic hospitality the entire staff pampered and indulged us with!
Our first shock started with the Coffee maker in the room that still had coffee made by the previous guest! In normal times, this would have been ok, but not in a time when there is a raging Pandemic that warrants for super high levels of safety, hygiene and housekeeping! And in common premises like the Elevator and other areas, folks had not even cleaned the place as frequently as it should have been, and trash and napkins used by other guests were lying around randomly on the floor!!!
And the property seemed to have sold out their soul to make money by renting out the venue to Private functions! We had to endure a very loud wedding event blasting super random songs that was a disturbance throughout our stay and made our special occasion a very unforgettable experience!!
The only reason I am even giving this property a 3 star is thanks to the excellent Staff and the hospitality they Showered on us all through the stay. But that is not enough to recover from the damage caused by the rest of the aspects of this dated hotel that seriously needs a facelift!
LOCATION: Good location and close to all key points of interest, and a stone’s throw away from a lot of cool eateries located behind the property
DINE + DRINK: Though they have an indoor Madhuban restaurant and Madhushala bara, the outdoorsy SHOLLA restaurant was our favorite. WE enjoyed both an outdoor dinner (next to the beautiful lit up buddha statue and garden) and a peaceful Breakfast in the morning.
ROOM: We stayed in 232, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Random view of the Pool and the Function area which had a very loud Marriage event going on!! Not the most pleasant sight.; SIZE: Reasonbalyspacious room; AIR-CON: Very poor and dated Air con that barely kept the room cool enough!!! BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Very dated bathroom with a Bathtub shower; TOILETRIES: lovely BIOTIQUE brand cosmetics that was the highlight of the dated Bathroom
FACILITIES: A VEry decent Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines. Good Swimming pool that was closed during our stay
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to SUSHANT (the Front office Manager) who did his best to rectify things and address all the issues we brought up. Also Special shout out to YOGESH - the Gym incharge, and all the chefs and staff at Sholla Restaurant(Pawan and Sanjeev especially)
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Super LOW SPEED Wi-Fi , and forcing you to pay for higher speed was so not cool!! Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages
