From the moment I set foot in Meica Home Stay, it was clear that this wasn’t just a place to rest my head – it was a place to feel at home. Nestled in a cosy and secure setting, Meica Home Stay offers an experience that is as comforting as it is delightful.
The rooms are impeccably clean, well-maintained, and radiate a warmth that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The attention to detail in every nook and cranny speaks volumes about the dedication of the hosts in providing a comfortable stay for their guests.
Speaking of the hosts, they are the heart and soul of Meica Home Stay. Their hospitality is unmatched; they go above and beyond to ensure all your needs are met without ever making you feel like a burden. During my time here, I never encountered a single problem. The rates are reasonable, but what you receive in return is a five-star experience. The hosts’ commitment to excellence is evident in every interaction – they're not just providing a service; they're sharing their home with open hearts.
And let’s not forget the furry members of the family – the dogs! Friendly and playful, they add an extra layer of joy to the homestay, but it’s important to treat them with kindness and respect, just as you would with the hosts.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place that offers safety, comfort, and a warm, familial atmosphere, Meica Home Stay is an excellent choice. My wife and I visited Meghalaya during 9th to 14th July 2022. As the trip was not planned at all, we had no bookings. 1st day we booked a stay at a costly hotel in polo market and then ch checked out the next day to visit Cherapunji and Dawki. On 14th, we returned to shillong and found Meica homestay with the help of some Google reviews. It was our last day in Meghalaya and we thought an average stay should be good enough as we had our return flight to Kolkata the next day. Little did we know that this last day was going to be one of the most memorable things of our trip. We were welcomed by Mrinal who is the owner of this amazing homestay. He went out of his way to make us feel at home and even arranged to get our luggage back from the previous hotel. We had pretty much covered all destinations in Meghalaya and thought that we will never come back but this man gave us a good reason to head back to shillong again in the future. His wife Catherine is a gem of a person too and how can I not mention about the delicious food this amazing couple cooked for us. There is a nice canopy setup on the terrace which has an awesome view and you can click some Instagram worthy pics over here too. We ended up drinking with Mrinal till 1:30 am on the terrace and it was like meeting an old friend. Not for a moment we felt that we had met few moments back. We couldn't have asked for a better end to our Meghalaya trip.
To sum it up, if you are planning a trip to meghalaya and searching for options to stay in Shillong, this is THE one. I can confidently recommend...
Read moreI had such a wonderful stay here, and honestly, anyone saying otherwise must have been a difficult guest themselves.
The rooms are excellent: clean, spacious, and set away from the hustle and noise of the city, which makes it a perfect place to relax. I really don’t understand why people complain about the location, if you’ve done your research, you’d know exactly what to expect. The taxi stand is just a five-minute walk, and if you want to head out, restaurants and shopping areas are only a 20–30 minute cab ride away.
The owners are genuinely lovely people. They go out of their way to accommodate guests and make sure you’re comfortable. That said, guests should also appreciate that hospitality and not try to take advantage of it. You’re paying far less than a luxury hotel, but you’re still getting a 5-star level of care and service, just don’t expect the impossible.
The food here is another highlight. It’s delicious, with a wide variety of dishes and plenty of breakfast options (just check with the hosts in advance). Wi-Fi is provided, and while the mobile signal can be a little shaky depending on where you’re coming from, it’s nothing that affects the overall experience.
All in all, this homestay offers incredible value: warm hosts, great food, peaceful surroundings, and a level of service that honestly feels like a 5-star stay. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, hospitality, and a place that...
