I am glad we eventually stayed at this property.
It gave us 2 nights of very well rested sleep.
Check-in : We checked-in late at night. Perhaps one thing I would have appreciated was the check-in person paying full attention to our process for a quick check-in. He was multitasking (smaller team due to late night) and was on the phone with someone else on a different matter (another colleague). I feel we may have gotten our room quicker.
There was a technical glitch with the hot water and given that we were really really tired and could not keep waiting for it to be restored , they brought us 2 buckets of hot water and an additional for cold in case we needed to mix it.
This helped us sleep really well after a refreshing bath.
Rooms : Platinum Elite perks were honoured and they gave us an upgrade to a pool facing room which was really nice in the morning to awaken to so much greenery.
I definitely appreciate the large panel windows that allow in plenty of natural light.
Hands-down comfortable. Beds are firm yet soft. Duvets that envelope you.
They brought in a heater to keep the room temperature a little warmer (to what we are used to).
Rooms are slightly on the smaller side but they have a good functional layout that allows for movement and even laying out of luggage fully opened.
All necessary ammenities are provided - including bedroom slippes and a shower cap (they have a wall shower and no ceiling shower).
Nights were slighty noisy - either guests or some work being done - noises of furniture movement.
Service : We opted for airport pickup for easier logistics. Requested a sedan but were rewarded with a complimentary larger car.
Room service had suprisingly good food. We gave them some feedback on the hot chocolate and the next day they sent us a complimentary jug with some cookies
Housekeeping is incredibly prompt. Perhaps the first hotel that responds and delivers so quickly.
I broke a glass by accident and immediately they arrived to help clear the pieces.
Food : If room service was good - breakfast was equally good. A decent range and more importantly hot food from live stations.
I would come back if I was in Delhi for short periods of time or on a longer layover - they are conviniently located close enough to the airport without the exorbitant rates of the airport accommodation.
Thank you to the team who saw to our every need :
Dinesh from housekeeping and his colleagues The gentleman who organised our hot water and came to check if we were comfortable Subhadip from the restaurant who greeted us everyday with a smile and customised service Manpreet from the restaurant who patiently walked my Mum through the spread and answered all her questions Shahnwas who made it a point to stop at our table to enquire if we needed anything Chef Akhilesh for overseeing the meals. Importantly - Ashish who picked up my original comments and confirmed my reservation and sorted...
Read moreThis is my first time staying in a supposedly four-star hotel that feels more like a prison or hostel. I've stayed at a lot of high-end hotels both abroad and in India, but I've never seen anything like this place, which has some crazy rules that you must observe.
Overall, I would say that for a Sheraton / Marriott brand, they are quite set in their ways of doing business. The front desk staff is an added disappointment. Even my American colleague was frustrated and surprised by the number of rules and regulations. The only advantage I found in the hotel was its location, which is on a major motorway and close to the airport, making it a convenient stop before continuing on to your next destination.
Conclusion - I would not stay here because it was a major surprise to me that I was paying for a less-than-premium experience for a...
Read moreClose to the Airport and thus allows at least an half an hour extra sleep to catch a flight against staying in New Delhi. The hotel is built over a large campus but it is still under construction. Security is optimum and all Covid protocols are being followed
The check in was swift and I appreciate the hotel allowing me an early check in. The room is quite a walk from the lobby so if you have mobility issues do ask for a moving chair. Interesting the route to the rooms are through the restaurant which I found quite awkward
My room was excellent in terms of comfort, ambiance and decor. The bed was cosy and comfortable, the pillows were perfect to my requirement. Room lighting was optimum and working table large enough to hold all gadgets. I would have wanted some plug points beside the bed lamp which can be improved
I also would have loved normal water in glass bottles than plastic water bottles that too 500 ml which is unnecessary plastic wastes. Worst case instead of providing 2 500 ml bottles its logical to provide one.
The bathroom was spacious enough and shampoo, bath gel and conditioner was provided in an attached holder beside the shower. This is smart as it definitely reduces wastage and plastic wastes,
I was in Room 414, just avoid that room as it was beside the Emergency exit. All the rooms are non smoking thus patrons constantly use it to go out for a smoke making creaking noise every time which is extremely infuriating. Also an Emergency exit cannot be opened from outside thus they use their slipper or some object to block making further noises. Apart from this I guess everything was fine
The breakfast spread was quite good and the prices quite moderate. I enjoyed it well. The swimming pool was open but it is way beyond the rooms thus I did not even attempt to venture out.
Finally I was very happy to see Air purifiers in...
