Taj Vivanta is located just beside the NH16. So, the location wise it is quite good. From the hotel, at one side you have a distant view of the horizon and Eastern Ghats mountains, and on the other side, it is overlooking the swimming pool, highway, and a distant horizon. The rooms are spacious with large LED TV, single couch and table, study table and chair, fridge, locker, wardrobe etc. Some fruits were kept in the room. Lots of mineral water bottles were provided. There were basic toilet amenities however strange that they did not provide any comb or shaving kit even if the stay was almost for a week.
The swimming pool was small but good but with no underwater light had a problem during the evening.
All the staffs were extremely courteous and polite. A big thumbs up to their commitment.

The breakfast buffet had a combination spread of Indian and Continental. The regulars were Fruit Juices, Fruits, Assorted Breads, Bacon, Chicken Sausages, Baked Tomatoes, Poori, Sabzi (was different in different days), Idli, Vada, three types of Chutney, Sambar. Then there would be assorted dishes like Upma, Poha etc. based on the days. The coffee was excellent. At the counter, you would get Dosa and Omlette. All the dishes were very good taste-wise. My only comment would be that the bacon strips were a bit stiff.
The dinner buffet had a combination of Indian, Chinese, Thai, and Continental dishes. There would be some excellent vegetarian and non-vegetarian salads as well as two different types of hummus with small coin sized breads. In the main non-vegetarian section, there would be chicken, fish or seafood, and mutton everyday. The chicken was mostly prepared in continental or south east Asian style like fricassee or red curry etc. Same for the fish except one day when we had Tawa Fish Fry. Mutton was served always in Indian style like Rara Mutton, Mutton with Potato, Kasha Mutton etc. Then there would be different rice dishes. The vegetarian dishes are predominantly north Indian like paneer masala, dal fry etc. The dessert section also had a nice collection of the cakes, pastries, Indian sweets etc. Moong Dal Halwa was particularly good.
Although all the dishes tasted very good but I had one observation here. I think every restaurant should have some dishes that are traditional to that region. Very recently, we concluded my sister’s wedding at the newest buzz in the Bhubaneswar city, Vivanta, Bhubaneswar. As, the property was fairly new, we had many apprehensions since it was my sister’s wedding, and we wouldn’t take a second chance than the usual good hotel options at Bhubaneswar. From Day 1, of our meet with Mr. Jitendra Singh, his assurance and professionalism, gave us no chance for a second thought and we booked Vivanta to conduct all three celebrations at the property. From, having extra ordinary professionalism and serving best of their hospitality, Vivanta left no stones unturned in calling our guests their own.
Mr. Ainsley Timms coordinated everything in detail, for the swift conduct of the event along with suggesting best measures for an extra ordinary event. His experience in the industry gave us the strength to simply concentrate on our celebrations and rest assured on Team Vivanta for the management and flow of the event.
Chef Santosh Nayak, took his time out and discussed the entire menu spread for the 3 events and helped us to have a great buffet spread for the back-to-back events scheduled for the 2 days. Chef Santosh had an extra ordinary sense of taste, by balancing between the traditional taste and western dishes, which was highly appreciated by many guests of different age groups, who joined in with our celebrations.
Many of our guests, visited from different cities also highly commended about the great and a comfortable stay they had at the property. The rooms are well designed with a comfort outlook and a 24/7, round the clock top class service on call.
