Barbeque Nation - Patrapada — Restaurant in Odisha

I had done the Reservation for 20th Nov, 2022 on 16th Nov itself for 55 people. When I had conveyed that so may people are coming for dinner then I was expecting BBQ Nation will be ready beforehand for the service.

Even on 20th Nov Afternoon, executive from BBQ Patrapada confirmed the guest count and informed me that they will be ready for the food for all guest.

Let me start case by case. Firstly only veg starters were been served to all guests and no non veg starters were been served. It was I have to inform them that start serving non veg starters now. This was a gimmick by BBQ to serve veg starter so that people don't ask for non veg starter whereas I was paying for non veg per person.

Secondly non veg starter waiting period was too long and items like prawns, mutton were not at all been served. When we asked for it managers and waiters were saying that items are been prepared and will take time. We were not ready for so much guest's. I mean seriously this is your reason when you were aware of 55 guest list. Still starters took around 20-25 minutes per table to be served. Imagine when a person is giving treat to family members and they are been kept waited for prawns, mutton etc for such long time is embarassing.

Thirdly, main course mutton gravy was less quantity. It got over in no time and again guests had to wait or compromise with egg or other dish. Sweet dishes such as gulab jamun, halwa also got over in no time and my family had to keep waiting for another half an hour till again I had to intervene.

Finally when all these bad services happened and i was not at all impressed, as a courtesy I was expecting discount on final bill of Rs. 45000/- but still no support. Since it was a celebration night with family was not really interested to fight and get this sorted.

So BBQ nation if you are not ready for so many guest or if this is a tactic used for bigger guest to save money at your end but at same time take money from client's then I would suggest please improve your service and AS A COMPENSATION YOU SHOULD RETURN MY SOME AMOUNT FOR BAD SERVICE AND EMBARASSMENT.

There are many competitors out there and serving better than you but your main focus is on saving prawns, mutton, chicken, gulab jamun, ice cream, etc and only serving pineapple, corn, veg tikkas so that less space available for non veg starter or main course is completely STUPID, UNETHICAL AND NON-TOLERANT tactic.

Very bad experience. Service was pathetic.

1. Staff behaviour was not humble(neither rude).
2. The starter tasted good. But except chicken and fish, they do not refill anything. For the prawn they will give you 6 pieces for the first time, then we waited 15mins after ordering, again after reminding them about our reorder, we again waited 10mins for them to bring us the prawn (5piece for 3 people). Same for the panipuri. They will not force you and tell you directly to eat fast and get lost, but their ignorance and lateness conveys the message.
3. We dined for 1hr and 30mins there. After eating the starter, we went for the main course, at that time the chowmein was completely empty. Then after 15mins when I went for a refill, including the chowmein section there were no eggs in the egg curry, a little chilli chicken, and fish left. And it remained the same till we were there.
4. As I said before, the starter tasted good ngl, but the main course was not that much appetizing. Except for egg curry, others were 3/10 if I would give honest rating.
5. Their inside washroom was not working for some reason(and there is no separation for male and female), so they directed me to use the outside washroom(it has a separate male and female section). It was horribly smelly and dirty.
6. They won't listen to you or come to you as soon as the starter part ends. With time they will slowly reduce the starter refill rate so that you would get bored and irritated waiting for them and give up. Also they placed the lamb curry counter strategically along with the dessert section,so that it will be harder to spot the counter while going for the main course. They won't give you any idea about special orders or bread/naan etc. . If you approach them for a special order or bread then only they will make it for you. The desserts were not that tasty at all. This was the worst experience of mine in barbeque nation. The service standards were worst not just in comparison to barbeque nation standards but also it was worst compared to any other restaurant. We were 4 people and at the beginning they brought 3 barbeque rods to our table, I don't know why?? I thought may be they will replenish it soon as done at other outlets of barbeque nation. But to my surprise they didn't bring anything for next 15 minutes. I had to go to the manager to complain the same but nothing changed. Moreover, in other Barbeque nation outlets in odisha and outside odisha they use to give a complimentary drink and when I asked for the same here they refused. They couldn't serve the customers. Almost everyone was complaining there. We literally asked for paneer Tikka more than 10 times but we didn't get it. Frustrated, we skipped our starter further. Then when we went for the main course. There were no plates available to carry our food. People were waiting for almost 10 minutes to get hold of a plate and this problem persisted till we were there. Then at last the dessert counter was also not being refilled quickly. The gulab jamun counter almost remained empty for most of the time. You had to stand at that counter for long so that u get hold of some of it when it was refilled as it was getting finished immediately. I don't understand why they even take so many bookings when they can't deliver. This was my first and last visit to barbeque nation at patrapada.
