At the outset I'll say that I'm not averse to staying in budget rooms with cold showers, poor water pressure etc. However not when paying 2200 rupees. The room price should be around 1200. It was a good size with comfy bed, ac and fan which we didn't need as weather was cool. On the downside there were intermittent power failures and a lot of mosquitoes, though staff (little English spoken) did provide a plug-in repellent. The rooms are set around a courtyard of what seem to be derelict industrial shop units, which causes voices and loud crashes to echo around. The landings are covered in netting presumably to repel birds or monkeys and this, plus the acoustics creates a prison-like feel. The area around the hotel isn't great, lots of packs of dogs at night and an encampment of gypsies with aggressive beggar kids next door. Chittor is a low key town with few restaurants. We ate at Pratap Palace near the train station which seems to be the only place selling alcohol. No restaurant at our hotel. Not a town or hotel I'd rush back to. Over priced for what it is, though there seems to be little choice...

Security is excellent. Breakfast is homemade, fresh and tasty. The hotel staff are eager to assist, though they have limited English. The hotel was constantly cleaned and maintained. The owner is very welcoming, readily available and willing to help with travel plans and advice. Situated in town below the fort- easy to get tuk tuk or walk up to fort and other places. Hotel offers meals, as required but we found a good clean fast food dhaba on way to fort (menu in Hindi - google translate) as well as other restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and...
Read moreVery neat ..very hospitable. It is very homely not a typical hotel. The owner Aagalbhai treated us with lot of warmth. And his wife pushpaji's home cooked food is very tasty. When he learnt that we follow zero waste lifestyle, he immediately gave us rotis in cloth than aluminium foil. Made provision for refilling our water bottles. Step outside and you can see the majestic fort. We took a sharing rickshaw from just outside and explored chittorgarh across 2 days on foot. That was a good suggestion from Aagalbhai when he learnt that we like to walk and explore at leisure. Highly recommend this place-...
