😄 I arrived to Pushkar without a plan or knowing how long I’d stay, I ended up staying just over 2 months! If you’re like me and don’t plan so much then Vinod and his wife make it easy to stay here, you can just book one night and tell them when you’ll be leaving, super simple and relaxed!
✌️ I stayed in the dorm the first night and then moved to a private room with private bathroom, this was a very good price at 350 rupees per night and I really appreciated my time here and having my own space during my stay in magical Pushkar.
🛏️ My room was very clean and had a fan and big blankets, they did have some stains but of no concern, it is a budget friendly accommodation not a hotel :) the mattress and pillows are comfortable. I did read reviews about rats but I had no experience of this in my room, I rarely saw any bugs or mosquitoes too! I did see a baby mouse/rat on the top floor by the plants, just keep food secured away and you’ll be fine!
👏 I loved how many plants there were and all the beautiful art around the place, they also have an amazing dog who loves to play. Food is offered for an affordable price and was very tasty, I often ate there and it was comfortable and convenient to do so.
🙌 The location is great too, it’s close to the market and is in a local area, it’s generally pretty quiet too. There are signs all around Pushkar to help guide you to their place. The WiFi was good sometimes and other times didn’t work very well, if in the common room by the kitchen then it worked better and I was able to download movies. The top floor was very nice to chill out in the hammock or loungers, they even have gymnastic rings and you can do pull ups etc! The other common areas are nice too, one by the kitchen area and one on the second floor, I met some great people here! It’s got a really nice and authentic ‘hostel’ feel to it. The service from Vinod, his wife and the other staff member is really good and they’re nice and friendly :)
🙂 A family lives on the bottom floor, they are also friendly and if you’re on the second floor, you can sometimes hear them, this didn’t bother me too much. The main door was locked at night so you will wake them up by ringing a bell and will then be let in, however I left early hours one morning and so they left a small door open, I’m not sure what the situation is with this in peak season, maybe it is always left open :)
🌞 I stayed during the time that the owners were gifted with the arrival of 3 baby boys! It was so very nice of them to let me hold and see them, I wish you all a beautiful life! Thank you for my stay and for your warm kindness....
Read moreMultiple reviews, some bad some good. Read carefully for better experience of yours: I stayed for a night on 31st December, with 7 friends and we had booked 2 rooms here. This is a review on my own experience: So this is a small guest house, where you should not expect hotel room system. They have rooms pretty small, few with attached washrooms and few with common. The room sizes are pretty small, not enough if you are carrying some luggage. Parking is not possible if you get a car, because even our motorbikes had no space to be parked. We had to park them one street away, not nearby the guest house (which can be objectionable for some people). Ambience inside is good. The guest house is maintained and run by Mr. Vinod Kumar Mali and his wife. However the room we stayed in, was not cleaned properly as there was mud. When I asked Mr. Vinod Kumar to clean the mud from the table, he replied rudely stating we can cancel the booking and leave if not happy with what was being provided. After few minutes of exchange of words, he agreed, accepting the fact that there was no proper cleaning and cleaned it by himself. This behavior is not something I appreciate as a guest, keeping my hospitality in mind, as of course I am paying for a stay at the place. You do not get starters or some particular menu, there is only main meal system, pure veg and that too cooked by Mr. Vinod Kumar and his wife. Food is delicious, not disappointed with the quality and quantity. Open roof and in-house hall is provided to sit, chit-chat, smoke, work (with free wifi). They have got enough plants, which makes it more comfortable to live. One cannot drink or play music out of their rooms, as Pushkar is a dry city. In room drinking is not a problem. The paintings on the walls inside the rooms may not be appropriate if you stay with a family with kids. Adultery ancient style in the paintings might be uncomfortable for some. Overall, I would recommend people to stay here if planning to just be there to sleep at night. I would be more happy if Mr. Vinod Kumar would have been friendly, sensitive and respectful. As there are multiple (same budget) hotels and rooms available nearby, this bad experience with hospitality would make me suggest readers to go for an alternative! I hope this review let's the reader make a...
Read moreMilk Man Guest House is quite easy to find. Everywhere around you'll see blue-white signs showing you the way to this Guest House.
The family which runs this place is really lovely. They do anything possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Cleaning, cooking food, giving advice for walks in the city or how to get to other cities.
Pushkar lake and the city center are just a 5 to 10 minutes walk away from Milk Man Guest House. And still it is a quiet place and you barely hear the street noise from the center.
The prices for rooms and food are unbelievable low. But it doesn't mean you get less quality. Everything is home-cooked, so you will enjoy some real traditional Indian dishes here.
I stayed in the dorm first. After one weel I decided to change to a private room. And I tell you just this: I paid in other cities in India more Rupees for a bed in dorm than in Milk Man Guest House for a big...
