Booked a room for a night stay so that I could catch an early morning flight the next day. Rooms were small and not sound proof. They knew that I was traveling with a child and still chose to assign a room that was the last in the corridor, right next to the stairs and there was a club above which was blasting music like it wasn't even funny! Up until 11pm, I could hear music and screams and then clattering of plates. I requested for an early check-in (first time in my life) and these guys did not even bother to respond to my email. For a 2pm check-in, the girl on the phone asked me to check post 9am when I told her that if she tells me, I could plan accordingly since I was traveling with a child. Phone answering staff also needs some training on better customer handling and managing service no situations, rather than simply saying "I can't tell you", she could have said "Unfortunately, we will only know in the morning if a guest wants to check-out early and if early check-in can be accommodated". She casually asked me to call back again in the morning of the hotel stay date
I called reception a few times and as always, they told me they are looking into the noise issue from the club above but nothing happened. I requested for the duty manager to call me as they were giving his cell number, the guy Ram never did. I ultimately called him on his cell and he said he will get the music turned down/off in 10 minutes but nothing happened. The room was literally shaking with the passing of vehicles on the road right outside the room as it was facing the road. Minibar was empty though there was pricelist of items next to the room phone.
Only the food was nice and the restaurant staff was helpful, courteous and attentive! There was Jemima and another girl from Assam (forgot her name, she was really passionate about her work), they made the restaurant experience nice!
With people paying a decent amount of money and this property just being a year older, I expected better but it turned out below average. I paid almost the same amount of money for the rooms at Ramada Darjeeling and the experience...
