Must Visit!
I visited the Black Cat Museum in Gangtok on 04 Jul 2025, and I was genuinely impressed. It’s a small museum but packed with powerful stories, rare artifacts, and a unique glimpse into Sikkim’s military history and the role of the legendary Black Cat Division of the Indian Army.
The layout is clean and modern, and the audio guide (₹20) added so much value—every exhibit came to life with context and emotion. From the brave accounts of past battles to the cultural heritage of Sikkim, it felt both informative and personal.
I especially loved the interactive selfie room, the souvenir shop, and the cozy army-run café—perfect for a quick coffee break. The museum staff was polite and helpful, and everything was thoughtfully presented.
It’s not a massive place—you can see it in about 30–45 minutes—but it’s absolutely worth your time. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a curious traveler, or someone who appreciates the armed forces, this place leaves you with a sense of pride and respect.
Highly recommended. Don’t miss it if...

The staff was very friendly and helped me to clear a few doubts regarding the exhibits as well. They also provided me with an audio device to help me better understand the same. The ground floor has the reception, souvenir shop and also a good cafeteria, while the entire first floor is dedicated to the museum. One should definitely visit it while they are...
