Location :

Located in an amidst place in pine forest, just at the top of Risha colony, Dhankheti, Shillong. If you choose serenity over crowd, then it's your place to bang on. Basically it is situated 3.7 km from the central spot , Police Bazar.

Accessibility:

You can reach here from Police Bazar by shared cab or hired vehicle. If you take share cab, then the vehicle will not move upto hotel. They'll drop you 1km away from the location. You have to walk 1km ( with solid gradient ). For reserve cab, they'll charge Rs. 200 only for the cab.

Rooms:

The rooms are well and good. Basically it's a British property that they are ( Pradeep Bhaiya & Daphika mam ) taking care of. The entire building is made of wood. The lone advantage of the room is privacy. If you talk loudly , it can be hearable from next room.

Hospitality: Superb ! If you need anything, just ask Daphika mam about it. You'll get plenty of solution ( i.e. for vehicle arrangements or anything ). You'll get free WiFi here.

Food: Food qualities are excellent along with quantity. But you have to tell them in advance for food. Because, they don't keep food in fridge & just warm it & serve it to you. Once you place order, she goes to market & bring fresh veggies & non veg items as per your requirements. It is not overpriced based on the location & availability. The price is at par with respect to all factors.

Add ons: There is a very beautiful pine forest just behind the hotel. The forest connects Shillong peak ( which is now closed from or during covid ).

I booked this hotel from OYO.

Pros:

1. You will burn lot of calories to find commute if you don't have a car in shillong.
2. The property looks good from the outside.

Cons: 1)The hotel is situated very far from main road. 2)Moderate location if you have car as the commute will be impossible as you have to walk atleast 1.5 kms to Dylans cafe to find any commute. 3)Uber and Ola doesn't ply in Shillong so your apps can't help you getting a ride and the property is a uphill climb from the nearest road which is 1.5 kms away. 4)The property host is not well versed in Hindi or English and isn't friendly at all. 5)No wifi and parking as the entrance is under construction. You can find parking outside, shouldn't be an issue. 6)The rooms were dampened, small and had this moisty smell and wasn't clean at all. Don't be mislead by pictures. 7)Food is not available 24/7. You have to pre-order for your meals.

I had to move to another hotel considering all the facilities and my refund is still pending with OYO kudos to their pathetic customer service. I didn't checkin to the hotel even after making full payment in advance, just imagine the condition of the property.

It's a great place to stay especially for someone who appreciates quiet and a peaceful environment. A bit pricey but overall very pleasant staying experience.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Pradeep & Daffyca. I had never been to that area so i was having a bit of trouble to find the exact location but Pradeep and Daffyca were kind and patient enough to guide me towards the place and Pradeep even came out to pick me. Both of them were extremely friendly and sweet.

The room i was staying in was great as well, not too big, not too small either. A very cozy room with a nice queen sized bed and a few furnitures. And Daffyca was always there whenever i needed her help with something. The place is away from the busy city life so it's definitely quiet out there which is always appreciated.
