Club Mahindra Derby Green Resort in Ooty is a beautiful place with a mix of old-world charm and modern comforts. The resort overlooks the racecourse, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. However, there are a few areas that need improvement to make the stay better. Ambience and Facilities The resort's ambience is fantastic, with well-kept gardens, classic architecture, and stunning views. There's a great area called Happy Hub for children, filled with activities to keep them busy, making it a perfect spot for families. Rooms The rooms are cozy and nicely decorated but are smaller compared to other resorts. This might be a downside for those who prefer more space. Also, having a microwave in the room is pointless since outside food isn't allowed, making the microwave useless. Food and Beverages The food at the resort ranges from average to good. Breakfast offers a variety of options, though the quality can be inconsistent. The tea is very good and a highlight of the dining experience. However, the food is quite expensive, which might not seem worth it for the quality provided. In-House Services and Activities The resort offers travel tours, which are convenient for exploring Ooty, but these tours are quite expensive. While they are easy to book, the high cost might make some guests look for cheaper options outside the resort. WiFi Services One major issue is the WiFi, which is very slow and needs an upgrade. In today’s world, good internet is important for many guests, whether for work or staying connected. The slow WiFi can be very frustrating and takes away from the overall experience. Staff and Service The staff at Club Mahindra Derby Green Resort are friendly and helpful, making the stay pleasant. However, many staff members don't speak Hindi well, which can be a problem for guests who don't speak English or the local language. Improving their Hindi skills would make communication easier. Happy Hub The Happy Hub at Club Mahindra Derby Green Resort is a fantastic feature for families with children. This dedicated area is designed to keep kids entertained and engaged throughout their stay. It offers a variety of fun and educational activities that cater to different age groups, ensuring that there’s something for everyone.
From arts and crafts sessions to indoor games and outdoor play areas, the Happy Hub provides endless entertainment for children. The friendly and attentive staff organize engaging activities and games that not only keep the kids busy but also help them learn new skills and make new friends. The safe and vibrant environment allows parents to relax and enjoy their vacation, knowing their children are having a great time. In last, Club Mahindra Derby Green Resort is a nice place to stay with its beautiful surroundings, family-friendly facilities, and helpful staff. However, the small room sizes, expensive food and tours, slow WiFi, and language barriers are areas that need improvement. The resort's lovely location and good service make it a good choice, but guests should be aware of these drawbacks. Overall, it’s a good option for enjoying the beauty of Ooty, but be ready for some inconveniences regarding room size, internet speed, and...

Read moreOur family had planned a holiday at ooty Derby Green for 4 days and 3 nights. Being a purple member we booked one month in advance. We got a confirmation for 2 rooms on night 1 and night 3 and the 2 nd night only 1 room was confirmed while the other was wait listed. We were in constant touch with club mahindra and were told the room would be confirmed on arrival Unpleasant experience started the moment we touched the resort . We checked into our rooms and went out for lunch. The moment we came back we found the packaged water placed in our rooms was missing. We contacted the front desk to find out if anybody had entered in our absence and yes it was the house keeping who had cleared the complimentary water, toothpaste and brush as it was meant for another guest. How they entered our rooms without our consent is still a mystery. What was more perplexing was the preferential treatment and on what basis. Then we decided to rest since we had a long drive. Suddenly loud noises woke us up and we saw about 80 guests checking in and the resort personnel taking them round on a facility tour. All were non members and we were astonished at the attention and care they got. Again in the evening we went to the front desk to know the status of our room for a night. We were assured that we would be given priority as we're members and we would be accommodated. At night we ordered for a baby milk. The milk came all contaminated with something. Had to return it and ask for a replacement. At 12 pm we get a message that our room is not confirmed We were shocked. Where would my son and family with a kid go a night alone. It was then we realised as purple members we are already hooked. We can be treated any way. But the non members 80 in number are their priority as they still have to hook them. Being Club mahindra members for a decade we always had pleasant holidays but this at Derby has made us sad and cheated. We as members pay rs 15000 a year as maintenance and the nonmembers who book rooms for about 4000 Rs a day are given...
