We did stay at Taj Fisherman’s for 2 days for family leisure time booked 2x separate rooms. Unfortunately the whole party was highly disappointed with the food, service and staff.
On day 1, 3 of us checked in at 8:30 pm and we planned to have dinner at the Sea gull. The service was super slow (almost 30 mins for a finger bowl) and no staff was courteous as we expect them to be. Mostly the staffs were rude and not ready to serve at all. They were unhappy we were there. The bill was rupees 4800. For that kind of amount, I expect only top notch service and nothing less which was totally missing. This day 1 experience made the whole party highly disappointed and frustrated. Especially majority of the food was cold.
The breakfast was definitely not on par with any 5 star hotel i have been to. I am visiting from the USA and have stayed in multiple hotels, multiple locations during the 6-week period, this was the very average breakfast i have ever had and most of the time the live counter foods served like dosa is always cold as they are no people to serve us immediately.
Although the first 2 days the filter coffee was good. The last day the filter coffee was substandard quality. I am not sure what mistake they did it was really bad for a hotel like Taj.
I was expecting the top notch service like any other competitors of yours but went super unhappy and disappointed that our hard earned money was wasted. Sadly this makes me to think if i should ever consider or recommend Taj in future or to anyone. Taj fisherman cove needs a serious make over right from management to staff and chef!

Read moreNot the same great experience we have had earlier at other Taj resorts. In the quest for adding more and more properties to their brand, looks like quality and service has taken a hit. The few staff there do the best they can, and the beach was lovely, but.... rooms we booked online on the official website were not actually reserved when we got there. Took excessively long to find rooms and check us in. Facilities were not in the best shape, not well maintained, felt like they were past their expiry date. A senior in our group tripped and fell on one of the many broken tiles on the outdoor walkways. The new-ish deluxe rooms were not child-friendly. The retro standalone bathtubs are not easy for children or seniors. The deluxe rooms' design is just awkward and uncomfortable in many ways. Water was not warm enough during evenings and nights. Many times no one picked our calls to the zero number for assistance at night, despite calling multiple times. The deluxe rooms' building is tucked away in a far corner of the property, and with very few carts to ferry folks around. The deluxe rooms' building is right beside the property's boundary with a minor public road, and traffic noise and honking does come through at times. The resort just feels understaffed. Room service took at least 45 minutes. Even at their marquee restaurant, we waited and waited and no one came to seat us. We had to just walk in and find seats for ourself. The swimming pool is only 4 feet deep throughout, with a 2 foot kiddie pool attached. Some more depth would have been good for adults. Not enough poolside loungers. Read moreTaj Fisherman's Cove Resort & Spa is a excellent property. Very well designed, huge, best location, lot of activities, excellent beach (one of best in Chennai). AND above all, very very helpful and courteous staff. GM to house keeping staff, all are always eager to help guests. Being huge property, need golf carts to move around, and they are readily available on short notice. Breakfast it superb, again staff there is very courteous, even at peak rush, they are there to help you. Chef is amazing and personally check with guest about food and eager to help you to meet your special needs. Only few shortcomings are: Rooms are aged and need refurbishing. Architecture and designing is modren and excellent, only fitting and sanitry and electrical need to change. One of our room had foul smell, on request they changed room, but in that room also some times foul smell comes from ac AC contoller are old, no auto fan, even after setting temperature, it keeps cooling, ac fan also have only 2 speeds. Flush stuck many times and water keep flowing. In one room at night, water start dripping from ac and in morning when we woke up, there was water everywhere⁸ in passage. Safe in one room was never working even after repeated complaints ts, they came once and fixed but it stopped working immediately after.
