The most underrated hostel in Varanasi I would say. It deserves more attention and visiting. Just loved the way the whole hostel is being made. It's way better than the hostels in delhi for which I spent 800 for 12 dorm bed room.
The location is bit tricky but again that's what make Varanasi special. The city of lanes.
Room Review - I will rate 10/10 for 8 bed dorm room. AC was quite chilling , proper head space , blankets, matress and curtains Also there were two toilets in the same room which were pretty cleaned.
The living room was good but not well ventilated and it was all sweaty if you try table tennis and fooseball or chess or carrom. But great artistic vibes and i loved spending time there.
The roof top is quite nice with it's ambience but it lacks that party vibes as there are no girls around , mostly boys and they are quite boring. Just music and beer and alcohols
Couple wise- The rooms and staff and the privacy you expect is quite good and conducive but i hardly seen any couples so it can be bit awkward to spend time with your girlfriend in the hostel because too many men will stare you out all the time.
Prices were also quite decent, i spend 350-380 for 1 day for 8 bed dorm. If you book directly at hostel , you will have to pay 480 something, so go with online booking ( I used goibibo)
Services and everything was quite nice, I will give 10/10 for the service and cleanliness and chilling AC rooms with spacious area.
Just try to make that place bit more couple friendly so that more of a women travellers can come easily and stay there.
Overall a very nice and memorable stay.💕
Great work...

I’ve been visiting Gypsy Diaries regularly for the past 5 years, and every visit has been an absolute delight. The staff is incredibly polite, professional, and attentive, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
The property is spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and offers a peaceful yet lively atmosphere. There are plenty of sports activities to enjoy, and a common kitchen is available for guests at a very nominal rate, which is perfect for those on longer stays or who enjoy home-style cooking.
They also provide a separate smoking zone, a party area, and a disco facility, making it a great place to socialize and unwind.
One of the biggest advantages of Gypsy Diaries is its unbeatable location. Major landmarks like Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Manikarnika Ghat, Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Kal Bhairav Mandir, Dhanvantari Mandir, and all 80 ghats are located within 1 kilometer—ideal for spiritual seekers and explorers alike.
The owners are wonderful people—always kind, approachable, and genuinely invested in ensuring every guest has a memorable experience.
Whether you're visiting Varanasi for peace, pilgrimage, or pleasure, Gypsy Diaries is the perfect place to stay. Highly...
Read moreThis place is very dirty, staff are lazy and not very helpful but they are extremely noisy and come into the rooms randomly without much reason and have conversations very loudly - this is very disruptive and uncomfortable. There is very minimal cleaning, there’s layers of dust baked into surfaces, very old cob webs and mosquito infestation, bins are not emptied and toilet paper is not refilled in washrooms - doesn’t seem like sweeping, mopping and dusting is done here either. There’s constant loud noises and construction going on around the property so there’s not much peace. The beds are very uncomfortable , linen offering is poor and pillows are basically flat. I actually contracted an upper respiratory tract infection whilst staying here due to the dust and dirt, unfortunately due to being so ill I couldn’t change accommodation which forced me to stay longer. There are no heaters even though it’s been very cold. The location is difficult to get a tuktuk and getting a cab is next to impossible, it isn’t very well located overall. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone based on my poor experience, I struggle to find any positives to...
