This is an honest review, intended for both Indian travellers and those coming from abroad. Please consider the points below: - You will need some experience to navigate to the location. However, if you can find Pandey Ghat, it's just one staircase up from there. - The rooms are shady, small, and compact. They are extremely dirty, have an unpleasant smell, and are not clean at all. While a window provides some ventilation, it opens directly onto the street. If you want to rent a scooter, they charge an absurdly over amount compared to the market price. - Now, regarding amenities and services: the bedsheets have blood stains, a lot of them (who knows what had happened there), and there are numerous bed bugs (you'll definitely need pest control spray and disinfectant). The washroom is filthy and leaky, and the water supply is inconsistent. You'll often need to ask for the water to be turned back on, which is irritating, especially if you're using the restroom or showering. They provide a local brand of bottled water (of course, they are trying to save money), which is not of good quality. Additionally, the air conditioning is controlled by a master switch that they operate at their discretion. They close it two hours before checkout, which for me meant it closed at 10 AM even though checkout is supposed to be until 12 PM. While this may not be a significant issue for many, it was for me because I had recently gotten my ears pierced. The cold temperature is necessary for healing and to prevent germs and bacteria. - The staff is not at all cooperative. There's a guy named Ali who seems to have a disdain for anyone wearing a rudraksha. In one instance, when I asked for his name, he ignored me, only responding after spitting betel nut in front of me. He simply said, "It's Ali," and when I responded with his name and a follow-up question, he curtly said, "That's all you need to know," and walked off. There’s also a young boy who I believe is the owner; he spends most of his time playing video games and is not at all helpful. To end this on a positive note, the Maa Ganga Aarti is nearby, and many auspicious places and ghats are within walking distance (though you may need some navigation experience, as I do). Food delivery apps work here, and Instamart is available (but not Blinkit or Zepto). You can find pharmacies, small local restaurants, travel agencies, and grocery stores in the vicinity. I suspect that other reviews are fake and paid. I've attached some pictures for reference. Hope this helps. Happy travels! Honestly, it's 3/10.

**PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** I rarely post negative reviews but i had to reveal the truth about this place. I have no idea how this place has such good ratings. It was the worst accommodation so far in my life. The pictures you see on online platforms are totally deceiving. We too booked this place based on the pictures we saw and we were in complete shock when we witnessed the reality. Here is what happened: -Our room was barely cleaned when we checked in. -The bed sheet they changed was actually damp and moist. They didn’t change our pillow covers. We had to ask them to change it. -They didn’t change the blankets. -Room and its walls were damp all the time. We kept feeling suffocated and unhealthy. -washbasin tap was tough to use. -not a single source of ventilation in the washroom. It was wet and smelly all the time. -their water supply was inconsistent. If you’re alone n in the middle of taking a shower and the water supply stops, then goodluck! We had to ask them multiple times to turn on the motor. -we were told by the receptionist that the rooms will be cleaned in every 2 days but that never happened. -yes we asked for some discount before booking the room and the receptionist agreed to offer it only n only because of our duration of stay. Yes we were planning to be there for 10 days. -after staying there for 4 days, we couldn’t take it anymore and decided to find another place. When we politely informed the receptionist Anwar Ali about our decision to move to another place, he behaved with us very rudely and asked us to pay for the total of one week instead of 4. We refused and decided to check out from there on 5th day. While checking out, Anwar ali again asked us to pay for the 5th day and we once again refused such unfair request. We told him about the room n it’s situation and why it wasn’t worth staying there anymore, to which he replied that ‘if you dont wanna stay then you can leave, but there is no need for you to cook up such stories.’ We were in total shock when he made such a ridiculous statement. Trust me you can find much better place near the ghats around same price. The only best thing about this stay was that it was quite close to the pandey ghat. Everything else about this place was a nightmare.

If you DONT care for safety or hygiene, you can choose this hotel for stay. Extreme Poor Hygiene - Extremely unclean hotel room and overall entire property is shabby. Owners / hotel personnel have no inclination towards cleanliness or overall upkeep of the property. Poor Safety - Corridors have no proper pathway for people to walk. If you are travelling with elderly people or kids, it s a BIG NO because it does not provide you any safe walking space. Wrong information - Since I was travelling with my elderly parents, I needed room on the ground floor. Booking was done on assurance that room will be provided on the gr floor but there are no rooms on the ground floor. There is no lift facility as well which was also promised at the time of booking. Poor Toilets - Apart from unclean toilets, there is no proper provision for hot and cold shower. Meal Option - The hotel does not provide any meal option. Also do not opt for room rate with breakfast since it is hardly available and poor hygiene will make you sick. RO water is also kept in complete unclean condition which would only make you sick. This feedback is given not only for keen travellers but also for owners to pay attention to property and make it worth staying. I saw many foreigners visiting Banaras so it is upto as an Indian, what do we want them to carry with them as a memory? Untidy and dirty toilets and rooms or an image of Banaras which is not only limited to Ganga Ghat.

Let me start with “hell hole “and “bed bug infested”incase you don’t have time to read this review till the end. I came across this guest house on google maps which apparently has excellent reviews. We were to stay here 2 nights .as we arrived in vasanasi by train at 6 am , the guest house immediately said the booking is not confirmed as agoda did not give them our mobile number. The guest house owner mr Ranjan seemed to have quite a charm while explaining things to his guests , and we considered this genuine and looked for another property for the first day . Being holi extended weekend , everything was expensive and we had to book a room at another guest house at an exorbitant price . Mr Ranjan seemed really apologetic and we were told there is availability on the next day so I convinced my husband to go back there the next morning . Despite early notice , we were still made to wait for more than hour with the excuse that ac needed to be serviced . During our wait in the entrance , I got to see a rat around the hall . Since we already invested so much time waiting , i did not change my mind . The room was given to us in a decent condition. Toilet was small and not exceptionally clean but maybe manageable for a day . We left our bags and went out and only returned for the night . This was the nightmare when bed bugs bit me all over from top to bottom not letting me sleep evening a minute. I really wonder how a place like this has such high ratings on google. It’s been a month since we returned from this holiday and I am still so disturbed by the stay here.I have to mentioned that the owner did not charge us for our after realising our plight. unfortunately this does not compensate us for the arduous time at stay...
