This restaurant is fairly highly rated, and every bone in my body warned me to flee far from a ‘sushi restaurant’ in the ancient Indian city of Varanasi. But I was wrong.
Everything we tried was tasty and fairly close in flavor & texture to dishes I’ve eaten in Tokyo & Kyoto. The Chicken Kara-age was moist with a nice breading, served with mayonnaise & shredded radish. The Ebi Tempera tastes of fresh, sweet shrimp with a crisp tempura coat, served with a tasty dipping sauce. The mixed veggie tempura was also quite tasty. I finished with a Miso Butter Ramen. The broth was a bit under-spiced, but sprang to life when I added a splash of soy.

Location: Nestled in the narrow lanes of Bengali Tola, it’s not accessible by rickshaw or cab. You'll need to leave your vehicle at the nearest street and walk. The surrounding area has a Rishikesh-like vibe, with laid-back, multicultural cafes frequented by foreigners throughout the day.
Ambience: The upstairs seating is much better than downstairs. Downstairs has a basic chair-and-table setup, while upstairs offers cozy wooden tables with padded mattresses, perfect for couples or families.
Food: Sushi in Varanasi? Yes, you read that right! We tried the Taj Mahal Roll, Veg Tempura Roll, and Veg Omurice Tomato Ramen. Every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and worth the price.
Overall, it’s a great spot for sushi lovers. Highly...
Read moreHad ordered the following for breakfast:
Cold coffee - tasted fine Paneer Paratha - had requested Mr. Manoj Yadav to avoid using Coriander and onions in the paratha. He did make sure that the flavour of the paratha wasn't comprised with and made sure that it was serves on time. Maggie
Had ordered the following for dinner:
Veg noodles (could have been less oily. But I'm sure Had I requested him to use less oil, he would have prepared the same, keeping the need of the customer in mind). Paneer chilly- same review.
For me, Paneer Paratha was delectable and my friends had enjoyed Aloo Paratha (with onions and coriander).
The best part of the whole experience was the fact that Mr. Manoj was very hospitable.
4 starts for the food and 1 extra for the way he treated us. Way...
