Actually wanted to give 4 stars. But some terrible experiences made me give 1. They are money minded people with absolutely zero customer service. First goibibo should stop business with these people. They don't consider us when we book through goibibo. Unless you had booked a room through their website you won't get treated well. When asked for a room upgrade they insisted me to pay more than twice the extra money since i booked room through goibibo. They say we should check the room in goibibo and book through their website. Stayed here for 3 nights. Problems I faced - Cigarette smell. The hotel is full of cigarette smell. They don't have any restrictions with smokers. I was charged extra money for room upgrade. The wifi never got connected in room. It connects only at the reception and at the dining room. Ac stopped working on the second night. Couldn't sleep at all that night. I checked in at 11.30pm. I came for an exam here. My exam gets over at 12.30 in the afternoon. So asked if I can check out at 2pm. They straight away told, since I booked through goibibo I should check out at 12 or else I should pay 1000 rupees extra. That too talked without any respect. Other than one young receptionist, everyone else talk without any respect to customer.

Read moreI often visit Chennai for business, and my clients have their office in Porur. Hence, I prefer staying in a nearby hotel to avoid travel stress. I am usually put up at Hotel Le Palace, but due to their unavailability, my client booked me up in this hotel.
The staff at the front office are quite professional, but the rest of the hotel is a nightmare. The room provided to me is terrible with broken furniture, stained walls, etc. The bathroom is even more scary with stained WC cover, stained floors, and rusted faucets (video attached).
The roomservice is the biggest disaster. I ordered a pomegranate juice, sweet and sour chicken soup, chicken Chettinad and rotis. My order never arrived for over 50 minutes, hence I called the room service to figure out that my order wasn't punched and the order taker didn't apologize for this but rather asked me what I would like to eat. He also blamed the management for mishandling my order and told me that he was the supervisor and assured me that the order would reach my room in 15 minutes. The pomegranate juice I received (picture attached) came as a milkshake (maybe it's a delicacy out here). My sweet and sour soup came pounded with black pepper (maybe because it's readily available). Read moreI went to grand residence on 15th of march. I was looking for rooms, for my family, who are coming to Chennai for a function. I enquired with the concerned person who was in the receptionist. He told me he will be able to block 5 standard rooms on the date I was asking for. I then told, will get back to you in a day. Soon after which, I spoke to the same receptionist, over the call, and he told me to mail the necessary details when and what types of rooms I will be requiring. As told, I did everything. Its been 3 days and there was no response regarding the mail or no follow up. So today, I made them a call, what is happening, there is no follow or note even a reply to the mail sent, he bluntly told, there might be corporate booking, i cant confirm your room. Let me ask you this, I spent all my energy came to your hotel, enquired about the rooms and you guys told me to mail regarding the requirements, and you cant even reply back, a basic courtesy, being in a hospitality industry, this is just ugly. Its definitely not fair from you side. Being a respectful host is important. I am thankful, I am not getting the rooms, Cant Imagine, want kind of a welcome, would have been to the guest, for the people who cant even reply/call back, to the request placed regarding the rooms.
