I recently had the pleasure of staying at the renowned Taj Wellington Mews, and I must say it was an absolute dream come true. From the moment I stepped foot into the grand lobby, I was enveloped in an ambiance of opulence and sophistication. This 5-star hotel truly surpassed all my expectations, providing an unforgettable experience that will forever be etched in my memory.

Upon check-in, I was greeted by a warm and professional staff who made me feel like an esteemed guest from the very beginning. Excellent customer care with specific attention to details in every aspect. We asked for connected rooms and they found a way to get us the right set of rooms that meets our requirements. The rooms are well structured and laid out. The concept of apartment with appropriately stocked kitchen, dishwasher and the washing machine are of great use for our three week stay. The house keeping is excellent and special mention to Saista, the Housekeeping manager for our floor, Jaya who cleaned the rooms with passion and always smiling; Jaya went beyond her call of duty to bring flowers for our pooja that we kept in the kitchen; Jaya also monitored our level of use of dishwasher and washing machine and proactively stocked up the dishwasher tabs and washing machine liquid even without we asking for it. High quality daily housekeeping made us feel very clean and safe. On the morning breakfast, the 5th floor Matchpoint Restaurant made us feel quite comfortable as the crew there pays attention closely to each and every guest. The Chef Bharti, crew members Rithish, Sowyma, Jennifer, Aditya all under good leadership of Anuj - they recognized our special requirements and we never had to repeat our requests demonstrating how the team takes care of its guests on a daily basis, consistently. The front desk team is also quite friendly and always willing to help whether it is a requirement for printing, photocopying some documents and checks regularly whether our stay is comfortable. Head of Sales Putul is quite friendly and showed us the rooms and guided us to take the right set of rooms, she was checking on us a regular basis. Even though we did not use the infinity type swimming pool in the 5th floor or the gym we find that the facilities are well-kept and always clean. My review is based on how Taj Wellington compares with other Taj properties. As a stand alone 5 star hotel, this place is definitely good, just not the usual Taj experience. We stayed here for 3 days on a staycation.

Pros: A fairly new property so it is sparkling clean. Courteous staff. A fully functional kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine are available

Cons: There is one restaurant that is operational. You have to order off a limited Menu. Only an average BF Buffet is available. We were surprised there was no buffet options for dinner ( particularly on Diwali week) and had to travel to another taj property nearby for dinner.

We requested for fresh coffee cups since the ones that we had used were in the dishwasher. Staff that came to attend our call was confused and finally said we had to wash and use our cups. One small cup of milk that we ordered for our kid was charged higher than coffee (350 if I remember correctly )

When we asked for a late check out the immediate response was ‘you have to pay extra’ before we could even explain that we were part of the Taj membership program so we were eligible for a late check out if rooms were available.

The staff really mean well but they aren’t trained like the other properties we have been to.
