OYO 9260 Olive Castles Inn — Hotel in Zone 15 Sholinganallur

Hands down, the worst hotel/Inn experience of my life. The rooms and beds are the smallest you will ever see, but this is actually the last of their problems as you'll know. We booked two rooms (later added a room) once seeing their size. Out of the 3 rooms, air conditioners did not work in 2 of them. I cleaned out big cobwebs in the extra room we took. The switches were mismarked and it took turning a combination of switches just to get the fan on. In one of the room's bathrooms, someone's wet underwear was hanging from the window. But the best part was the staff....they didn't seem even slightly bothered about servicing the guests. The caretaker's response to everything was "ask the front desk, I'm new here". At 2.30 am in the morning when I was hoping to catch a few hours of sleep, the guards of the building decided to have an argument so loudly that I had to go out and ask them to pipe down. The perfect end to the stay was the super cold breakfast that was served - seemed right out of the fridge. Of course they had no provision to heat it again. I may never use oyo now; it seems no one is accountable for the mess ups. Amazing place to stay if you are looking for a pocket friendly and decent place.

The rooms are a bit small, but are fine if you are travelling solo. Ac rooms, there's a TV with Tata sky ( althought most movie channels would be unavailable). The staff is quite friendly, and you can ask for dinner to be served to your room at Rs. 100. Also there's a store nearby, and a park right infront of the building.

If you are travelling to Chennai to join an organisation (Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture etc.) It's a perfect place to stay for the time, before you look for a PG. It's about 5 km from Cognizant ( that's the closest it gets).

The washrooms are clean and the food is good enough. Overall, it's amazing considering the price. Oh and there's free WiFi...

The Olive Castle Inn Hotel is indeed a good choice for an overnight stay or two. Located in a calm and peaceful locality and boasts decent budgeted interiors. The location of the hotel is deep inside (around 600 metres) from the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) The local Market on OMR road is 600 metres from the hotel. Suitable for Corporates of Elcot Sez and Shollinganalur (Newly Relocated Joiners of MNCs) Although an Auto stand is available outside the Hotel they charge ₹150 to the Elcot Sez Fixed price in the morning for any number of people travel(Or Else book an Ola/Uber).
