First time me & hubby when to have a stay at this hotel due to he book it for my birthday was a very nice placed to stay, staff is very observant always greeting whenever you out of the hotel or back to the hotel from shopping. We were looking for the gym at level 2 the staff show the direction where it is we seems to can’t find it but they help out to make sure that you are able to find it which is good initiative. We even saw the spa which is just opposite the gym same level. We went to the spa the 2nd last day before we left we have a massage which call the tired massage it’s not a foot reflexology that the staff inform us which is good and very patiently and greeting once you enter the spa I will say that they are not pushy. Nice and relaxing massage that we have.
Nice and clean hotel that we stay and we even went swimming but than once it’s reaches 6pm plus I wish the lights were on it will be easier as it’s get dark easily wanted to continue to swim but I didn’t want to just feel that it’s dark with no lights so me and my hubby decided to go off back to our room. Hotel breakfast was nice and everyday was different except the daily food they have was the cereal breakfast, the scrambled egg section, waffle section and the porridge section, it’s only downside it’s clearing the table that the guests have done their breakfast but when you have done your breakfast and put your plate aside the staff will come and clear your plates very efficiently that’s what I like about it. I like the staff host / mgr name Ms Kay i like her hospitality and she can speaks Chinese I’m surprised coz all the while I heard her talking English and Malay but it’s good for her that she can speaks Chinese which is easier for me to communicate and she gave us a dessert with a cake and melon nata de coco dessert which is nice not too sweet and I really appreciate it and also she makes something special for us the omelette but I didn’t take pictures of that coz I forgot it just eat it. She keeps checking on guest how is the food, how is everything and if needed anything can let her know she will just check on guest and than will just let you enjoy your food. It’s a very nice relaxing design hotel maybe if they could play something relaxing music or instrumental songs...
Read moreSerious need to review the hotel spa vendor. Went for a massage at the hotel spa on 2 March at about 10pm for a 60mins traditional massage. It was absolutely the worst body massage I have ever received in my life.
First, the masseuse walked in while typing on her phone with no attempt to hide it. Then during the massage, she was STILL typing on her phone, with the phone placed next to my body and I felt her every movement. Let’s not talk about the professionalism and work ethic, but being naked while she was still using her phone made me absolutely insecure. I didn’t want to make a fuss since I wasn’t dressed and I was alone in the area and no one else was around. I felt really insulted by how she massaged me nonchalantly while typing away on her phone (I was already facing up by then and saw everything, mind you)
I won’t even elaborate further about the small things like the bed not having a change of bedsheet, there was no face hole like a typical massage bed, not having even a hook to place my belongings, the bed that creaked like mad with every movement that even the masseuse herself was amused, and the masseuse burping every 20 seconds (I’m not exaggerating). After the 60mins torture, I was led to the counter where they asked me to give a feedback form right in front of them. Since I was alone versus the two staffs, there was no privacy and safety guaranteed (lol) so I had to circle “good”. Then, the counter doesnt have cash for changes (did they expect to keep the changes?) so I had to go down to ground floor to make card payments.
Tldr: It was an absolute nightmare that left me incredibly helpless and unsatisfied. I thought hotel spa would be better than usual for its price,...
Read moreAfter our previous disappointing experience with the Marriott Harbour Bay when we paid 5-star price to receive a 3-star experience, we decided that this time, we might as well simply pay a 4-star price and hopefully things would not get any worse.
It was generally a good stay - possibly even better than the Marriott Harbour Bay, if not for the one negative which was pretty major. The positives: Room was spacious enough for our family with 2 children. Room was comfortable and adequately equipped for something at this price point. Service generally good. Most people were prompt, friendly, and helpful. In particular, there were some individuals who did impress: Swara from the front desk, and Akhiles and Yupi from the restaurant. The F&B offerings were pretty good. We had 2 breakfasts and 1 buffet dinner in the restaurant, and all of them were better than we originally expected.
One major negative though: we were originally assigned a room which we immediately decided would not do. There was an overpowering cigarette stench in the room. We requested a change of room, and were offered the one next to it instead. They brought in an air purifier at first, which did make it smell alright. Unfortunately though, a few hours later, after we had settled down in the room, they removed the air purifier. Then things got bad.
My daughter, who has a nose allergy, suffered greatly during the trip each time we returned to the room. It was bad enough that even after we got home in Singapore, our domestic helper who did not make the trip with us commented that she could smell cigarette on all our clothes and even our bags. This is the reason 2 points got taken...
