Hotel Review: A Disappointing Experience**
I recently stayed at Royal Sanur and felt compelled to share my experience, which unfortunately fell far below expectations. From the moment I arrived, I encountered numerous issues that left me feeling frustrated and unsafe.
First and foremost, the customer service was abysmal. The staff appeared disinterested and lacked the necessary skills to assist guests effectively. When I approached the front desk with inquiries regarding my reservation, the staff member seemed more focused on their phone than on my concerns. This lack of attention made me feel unwelcome and unimportant.
Furthermore, the paperwork was shoddily handled. My receipts were not properly issued, and when I requested a detailed invoice, it was met with confusion and a dismissive attitude. This added unnecessary stress to my stay, as I needed clear documentation for my travel expenses.
The hotel itself had a rather dark and uninviting atmosphere. The dim lighting outside and common areas created a somewhat eerie feel, making me hesitant to venture out after dark. I didn’t feel safe walking around the property at night, which is a significant concern for any traveler.
In summary, my stay at Royal Karma was disappointing due to poor customer service, inadequate handling of invoicing, and an unwelcoming environment. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and secure experience. Save your time and money by choosing a place that values its guests and knows the importance of safety...
Read moreThis is par of a time share commitment that I made ten years ago and have continued to be disappointed at the value I have received. Having said that, although most Karma time shares are 3 star trying to be 5 star The staff at Karma Sanur are the 5 star component. If you are looking for a quiet get away in a boutique atmosphere then this is it. If you want the beach and all that comes with it, this is NOT it. Fortunately, we were looking for the quiet get away. The location is probably not the best but there are good restaurants nearby. You will have to cross the road of death to get to some of them. Food in the Karma resort was good, although the provided breakfast had the occasional disappointment you can choose, as we did, to pay a little more and have the breakfast of your choice. The chef is good and will cook up your desired meal. The bar/restaurant staff are also very good and will provide a good selection of drinks. Again they will do everything to mix up the concoction of your choice. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and when you go for breakfast the magic room fairy comes in and leaves it "as new". All the staff are just wonderful and exceptional. They definitely make the place. Would I go back to stay....? Probably not BUT I will drop in to visit and say hello to a wonderful bunch of people and...
Read moreThe room itself was mostly quiet, very spacious, with a separate living area (including kitchenette), separate bedroom and separate bathroom with a bath separate to the shower. The curtains in the living area were blackouts and there was no window in the bedroom, however, the glass door from the bathroom allowed a fair bit of light in, in the morning. It needed a blind. The bathroom frequently stunk of sewer gas.
The kitchen had no cook top or microwave, so you couldn’t cook anything. The breakfast here was good. The evening meals were not very good but there are some good restaurants nearby.
Some reception staff seem to have a cosy deal with a local taxi driver. When we asked for a bluebird taxi to Legian, they tried to tell us it was better to use the local taxi who was waiting out the front. He wanted 250Rp instead of the 95 we were twice previously charged by Bluebird taxis. This is really poor. Guests assume that reception is there to help them, not to rip them off. The pool area is great, with quite a few sun lounges and umbrellas. Unfortunately, there was a constant stream of salespeople every day, bringing potential KarmaClub members through, often talking...
