Don't waste your time lining up for this restaurant. First, you have to line up for dinner. they only open at 6pm-8pm. So I waited from 5:30pm, hungry. Second, you cannot choose where you want to sit. The servers choose your seats based on who comes first and the servers told us "we have a rule here. you cannot choose". Dalam bahasa Indo, servernya bilang "di sini gak bisa pilih tempat duduk. Kami gak bisa dicepet-cepetin. Di sini gak seperti tempat lain. Very rude service, sombong, arrogant servers, in my opinion.
Food is very average, compared to other Thai restaurants in Bali. Their seafood Tom Yum is the worst. They put too much rice noodle and bean sprouts in it. Since when seafood Tom yum has noodle in it? To me, it wasn't a Tom Yum, it was thick and strange, more like a Seafood Khao Soi. Tom Yum here tasted like thick sweet peanut, not sour as I expected. Papaya Salad is good though. Price is not cheap, not expensive, but for the service you get and average portion, it was not worth it.
Also, it's hot, no AC, by a loud busy ByPass Road. Also the tables, chairs are not well-kept. Everything seems dusty. Worst famous/ viral restaurant I have visited. Didn't meet my expectation at all.
But overall, very bad rude service and no smile from the servers and cashier. They don't care. When I was about to pay, the server was too lazy to pick up the table number. The cashier told me "take your number". No please nor manner. Try and learn to respect other people.
Yaya was entertaining though. The owner was singing for all the customers. She has a fun energy. But dearest owner, my suggestion (you can take it or leave it) is to train your servers some politeness, some manners. Your servers,...
Read moreI recently dined at DD Kin Tiew and my experience was utterly disappointing. This restaurant requires significant improvements in both menu availability and food quality to meet even the most basic customer expectations.
Firstly, I ordered the Tom Yum, only to be told that the shrimp was out of stock. The sole protein available for this dish was chicken. Despite paying the normal price, no substitute or discount was offered for the incomplete ingredients. Expecting customers to finish what's left over is completely absurd.
When I decided to try the Mango Sticky Rice, I was informed that it was also unavailable. To add to the frustration, even a basic drink like Thai Tea was out of stock. How can a restaurant claim to serve authentic Thai cuisine when its key menu items are consistently unavailable?
The food that was available was no better. The pork belly was disappointingly chewy and overcooked, lacking the tenderness and flavor one would expect. The only dish that slightly redeemed the meal was the morning glory, but even that was overly salty.
To top it all off, I witnessed a couple at the table next to me being skipped when their order should have been delivered. This lack of attention to service exacerbated the overall negative experience.
In conclusion, DD Kin Tiew has a long way to go in terms of improving both its menu offerings and service quality. I sincerely hope they take these criticisms seriously and make the necessary changes, as the current state of affairs is wholly...
Read moreI’m a huge fan of Thai food. I’ve actually wanted to try this place for a long time (about 2 years ago, even before it went viral), but back then, they closed earlier than expected.
Finally, I got the chance to visit in January. They open at 6 PM, but we arrived and started lining up at 5:10 PM, and sure enough, the line got longer and longer.
At 6 PM, we were finally allowed to enter. Seats are assigned by Yaya. We planned to eat as a group of four, but one of our friends was still on their way. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to save a seat for them. So, if they arrived, they would have to queue from the beginning and sit separately from us-__-
My favorite dish was the salad, it tasted incredible! However, the Pad Thai and Tom Yum didn’t quite match my taste preference, as I prefer a sour flavor. Here, the taste leaned more toward peanut flavor.
The Thai tea, though, was truly authentic and reminded me of Thailand! They don’t offer take-away service. I didn’t feel very comfortable dining here because the place felt dark and stuffy. I also felt rushed while eating, knowing there were others waiting in line for their turn.
However, Yaya is very friendly. If you ask me whether I would come back, I’d say yes, but only if I don’t have to wait in such a long...
