We want to share a very unpleasant experience at Oakwood PIK Apartment. Especially about guest car parking.
We stayed at Oakwood on July 1, 2022. In the evening we left for dinner with guest parking tickets that HAD BEEN REGISTERED at the hotel. Around 10 pm we returned to the hotel and circled a few times looking for an empty parking lot finally we got a parking area for 1 car.
The next day we checked out at 12 noon and headed for the car. What a surprise it turned out that OUR CAR WAS LOCKED by the security building with the reason that we parked in the loading dock parking area and with the reason that our car number was "NOT" REGISTERED in the system. At that time we were immediately told TO PAY FINE OF Rp. 1.000.000,-(One Million Rupiah).
We just realized that we parked at the loading dock because when we parked we didn't see the loading dock sign written on the parking floor (our car was a low sedan), and strangely there was NO PIN/CONE stating that the parking was not for public parking. JUST LIKE A TRAP !! And they NOT EVEN TRY TO CONTACT THE GUEST via Hotel FO so WE CAN MOVE OUR CAR.
We tried to explain the situation and refused to pay such a large fine.
The Building/Secure parking also doesn't seem to coordinate well with the Hotel to find out the Number of the guest's vehicle before locked the car and asked for fine. Even though our car number is already REGISTERED !!! as a hotel guest.
After 5 tiring hours of waiting at the lobby finally there was still no solution from the hotel or the building management. We still had to PAY A FINE 1 MILLION RUPIAH.
In the end, with a broken heart and tired, we transferred the fine of 1 million rupiah which was directly entered into the PPRS ACCOUNT. then lock on our car was opened. You can imagine how we were being TREATED LIKE CRIMINALS not a hotel guest.
This incident has cost a lot of time, energy and LOT OF MONEY. It was traumatized for me and my kids staying at Oakwood PIK Apartment, which turned out that the EASIEST TASK such as cross checking the guest vehicle number between the Hotel Management and the building management Security before taking action was NOT RUNNING WELL AND PROPERLY. Unbelievable...
Read moreNice, clean serviced apartment in PIK, just across pasar fresh market PIK. Very suitable for weekend staycation if you live in Jakarta. The location is about 15min walk from Tzu Chi compound. Try to get high floor apartment overlooking the bridge and Golf Island where the view is excellent. You will soon forget that you are still in Jakarta. Surrounding area is heaven for culinary trip, from bakmi for breakfast, coffee, to nice dinner spot. The place is really clean, i guess the management take hygene measure during pandemic seriously. You can read about their Clean360 hygene measure on their website. All amenities are provided for. We stayed for 4d/3n, and there is no room cleaning like we used to in hotels, and for a good reason. Obviously you dont want their cleaning personnel walk in to your room during your stay. Book 3 bedrooms apartment early coz they are limited and mostly fully booked during weekends. Swimming room is clean, relatively quiet and empty so there is plenty of social distancing. They have short indoor lap pool too in one of the four towers. Plenty of basement parking. They have 2 convenient stores (family mart and Indomart) within the area. I must say we are very impressed during the stay, kinda give you a break from normal weekend routine activities. Bring your bike and go to PIK2 bridge early morning before it gets too crowded. End your morning exercise in fresh market just across the apartment and have your breakfast there. At night, you can explore the hype Pantjoran (which is too crowded for my liking during this era) or less appealing Food Street. Don't forget to stroll or rent a bike in the afternoon at Boulevard area (plenty of bike rental shops, can even rent Tandem bike) to catch a nice afternoon sea breeze and sunset. Very recommended. Too bad the whole PIK area road is made from conblock which make road biking less favourable and uncomfortable. I got sore bum and hands after few hours ride afterwards. Staycation in Oakwood is...
Read moreThe property is huge, but not all units belong to Oakwood.Upon arrival, the service was good from the concierge. One of the lifts to the apartments are extremely cranky and does not seem to be working well. The corridors smell of moth balls. The bedrooms in the apartment is not very big despite it being a 2 bedder. The apartment is very dirty and had a musty smell. There were ants all over the coffee table upon check-in. The toilet had a strong sewage smell, and the toilet bowl had a strong urine smell. The finishings are old, and the wall in the toilet is mouldy. The aircon compressor is placed at the balcony right outside the living room, and the compressor is EXTREMELY NOISY. It can even be heard from the smaller bedroom. Doors and walls are very thin. There's a Family Mart on the ground floor, but it's always crowded - a lot of office workers as well, and for some reason, they do not accept credit card. Outdoor swimming pool is big, but they do not provide towels. Kids' playroom is very sad looking, nothing like the photos. Food at the in-house restaurant is not bad, but we waited 1 hour for our food, despite being the only group in the restaurant. The indoor pool is a very far walk, located in another block, which you have to go through another small gate to access. It is near PIK Avenue Mall, but a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Also, this is not within Oakwood's control but there are many mainland Chinese guests, and they seem to hang around in the lobby. They are extremely loud. As we were checking in, one of them expected the concierge to speak Mandarin and asked why she (a local Indonesian) couldn't Mandarin to him. Extremely entitled behaviour (as a Chinese (but not PRC) myself, I am sorry for his behaviour). For an Ascott property, it is really, really sad. The Ascott Jakarta, which I usually stay at, is way better than this. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. Was very glad it was only...
