This visit took place at the end of Nov 2024.
My mother in law who arrived at Somerset Berlian earlier before we did, went thru 4 apartments before settling for the 4th apartment.
The photos attached represent the state of the 4th apartment.
To add salt to the wound, she topped up an additional Rp300,000 per night for that miserable so-called Somerset quality apartment.
As shown in the photos, there was hair on the bed, carpet and sofa was stained and filthy, baby cockroaches were found in the toilet and kitchen, frail bath towels- no hand nor face towels, molds on the curtain and lamp shades, parts of the curtains were unhinged and incorrectly placed sockets and just generally dusty and unclean.
The kitchen is inadequately stocked with kitchen towels and dirty cabinets.
No sockets in the bathroom. 1 hairdryer which is faulty to share in 3 bedroom unit.
We stayed for 1 night and moved out the following day. Initially, they refused to refund the balance of our stay, but after much complaint, they eventually refunded.
The flip side is that the front office manager came to visit us prior to our departure. After showing him our complaints, he offered to clean the unit and showed their newly RENOVATED apartments, which we went to take a look at.
The renovated apartment was so much better in terms of cleanliness and quality, which is typically associated with the Somerset brand.
As the newly renovated apartments were clearly unoccupied (they showed us 2 unoccupied apartments), we asked why this was not offered in the 1st instance, they mumbled something about the front office officer who checked us in was not clued in and a price differential which from the onset we were willing to pay extra for.
It is so mind boggling why the front desk would offer such treatment to their guests.
Clearly, the management needs to pay more attention to the guest needs and...
Read moreIt's not easy to rate this place, the first thing when you arrive makes you feel like you are in some luxurious place. There are 2 buildings (32floors), the lobby looks amazing. The staff here is really really nice, kind and very helpful. Then you go to your room (apartment), which is huge, with everything you may need, very well equipped and huge kitchen, very comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and living room. But, it is very dirty. The curtains in the rooms were all disgustingly dirty, full of stains, and the white ones were actually grey. There was even separate room with ironing board and iron, which is great, but than you look closer on the ironing board and it's full of yellowish/brown stains that you won't even go closer to it. Swimming pool was the only reason why we booked this place, as our plan was to do nothing else but chill by the pool as we had to stay 1 day in Jakarta only because of our flight. Well, ... nevertheless to say, we have seen the pool only from inside the restaurant when we had breakfast, which was included in our room rate and was a buffet type, with plenty of choices and quite good food (apart of the coffee, was horrible) But the pool was already full of screaming kids, different ages, early in the morning (9-ish) We thought this is kind of hotel with apartments, but it seems like is actually a residential property as well. We didn't have chance all day to go to swimming pool as it was full with screaming kids non stop, so we went for a quick walk to nearest shopping mall to buy some last presents. And after we just stayed in the room waiting for the...
Read moreWe as a family lived for two years in the apartment and we didn't regret it. It is a nice well located apartment building with good access to the main places in Jakarta the streets around have not the heavy traffic of other areas. And the building surroundings are still a bit green.||||We passed seamless earthquakes, voting riots, energy black-outs, floods and the corona times in this apartment complex. All the time we felt safe and well cared of all the incredible things which happened during this period of stay in Jakarta.||||The facility is very good managed, clean and the staff is very very supportive. Power shortages of the city have not really an impact on the building.||||To the amenities of the apartment complex belong a great (big) pool, where you don't feel to be in Jakarta and a nice good equipped gym.||||Especially we miss the very good front desk, which supports and helps during all times and circumstances.||||If you search a full equipped home for a certain time to work in Jakarta from my point of view this is the best place to be. Yes, there are more posh buildings or apartments but if you search something quite, safe, well managed and have less traffic stress that is the place to be.||||Thx for to the team for making this such a great...
