De Margo - Ristorante Italiano & Bar — Restaurant in Jakarta

Atmosphere was great, the music was christmas vibes since i went there near christmas time, but the ac was too cold, i asked the waitress to turn up the temperature but nothing changed. I ordered a lot of pizzas, pastas, and chicken pan seared (forgot the name) and everything was a solid 7/10. i’m really sure i could get a better spaghetti aglio olio in some other cafe in jakarta, especially the shrimp (was just 2 big shrimp) was too overcooked i couldn’t cut it hence i had to swallow a whole shrimp and took some time to chew it untill it’s edible enough. The pizza’s crust imo was a bit too hard to chew off, though my brother (a big pizza fan) said the pizza was okay. And lastly the food came sooo long, the pizza was served fast, but the pasta was ridiculously took so long to be served, especially the fettuccine al nerro i ordered took an hour to get served 🙄. Disclaimer there was only like 4-5 tables of guests, so… it was really disappointing, but credits to the the service and waitresses who were nice tho. Definitely not coming back. Please take a better care over the bathroom, the floor was wet, and the walls & ceiling...

Oh my goodness…. Where do I start 😕…. To begin with I will never come back. All the dishes either mediocre or very bad. Stay away from the salad and calamari!! Calamari was so greasy and didn’t taste fishy. It was probably frozen. Plus there were only a few pieces of calamari, everything else was greasy veggies. 2nd my carbonara tasted like raw egg yolk. Was pretty bad, you can even smell it. Tagliatelle was aldente, however the ragu sauce was so bland, no taste at all. Out of everything we ordered the better ones are the gnocchi, pizza and all of our fresh juices…. Note to the owner, you need to hire better chefs that actually know how to cook...

Never been to Italy, but it feels like what I expected of it. The Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino was fantastic and the Fettuccine Al Nero was very good. The pizza was thin and crusty. I'm not an avid fan of Italian food, but all the dishes (including even the welcoming garlic bread) were excellent. Decoration is classy, and I somehow feel the instrumental Italian songs they played add to the overall experience.
