My family and I recently stayed at Village of Angels and was very disappointed with our experience.
The property looked tired and worn out—nothing like the attractive photos online. Our room was configured with two separate entrances, a detail that was never mentioned during booking, and this setup proved highly inconvenient for our family with small children.
Throughout our stay, there was no effort to accommodate our concerns. While we were eventually allowed to rearrange the room to include two single beds, this change was made without any refund for the additional room we had originally booked.
Further, the resort claims to have a gym, but again it didn’t match the images we had seen before booking. Images 1-3 attached: how the gym looked in reality. Image 4 attached: how the gym is depicted by the resort on Google maps.
The pool area was equally problematic—the pools were dirty, the water murky with poor visibility, and our children were reluctant to use them. Adding to the discomfort, our room had a persistent mouldy smell, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, and even the outdoor pillows were dirty and worn out.
The only positive thing was the employees. Although they were understaffed, they did their best with what they had.
It does not feel like any of the other places, we have stayed in during our vacation in Bali, nor did it meet the usual service levels, which leads us to think that presumable it is not a Balinese owned place.
Overall, our stay at Village of Angels was far from the relaxing experience we had hoped for, and I cannot recommend this hotel based...
Read moreBig complex of bungalows and suites. Our room was nice and clean, AC was working properly and WiFi connection was strong, suitable even for working and meetings. There was functioning refrigerator, so if you bought some fruit it would stay fresh. No safe in the room though. The little private beach was okay, though there were some jellyfish at the time of our stay, which sting - 1-2 hours and the rash was gone, so they were not really dangerous but it could ruin the time at the beach, so it is probably better to wear some protection. Pools were fine, however, they weren't cleaned properly and there was lots of sand at the bottom and some other trash floating around - I would expect that the pool would be cleaned at least once a week but that didn't seem to be the case. Despite of that, the infinity pool was nice to chill in and have some wine during dusk. The whirlpool WASN'T working at all, which really was a shame as I was looking forward to it. Food at the restaurant was okay-ish, but we decided to explore some of the local warungs which turned out to be better choice. The personnel was very nice and friendly and helpful when we needed anything. Location is quite secluded at apart from some warungs there isn't much there in the vicinity - which ensured peace and quiet, but also left you with nothing much to do. The resort offers some trips, but we already had our driver and guide, so we did not participate in any of them. Also, gojek nor grab works in the area so if you don't have a scooter /car or your own driver, there literally is nowhere to go on foot. Overall, our...
