Warung Boga Samatra — Restaurant in Kecamatan Manggis

The best sweet and sour chicken that I ever taste !!!!!!!!! Every meals that I tried in this Warung were so fresh and so delicious. The owner of this Warung are also so friendly, they even gave us free crispy banana fried as our dessert and it was so yummy!

It was quite funny story, we were staying at Candi beach resort and spa. On the first day in Candidasa we were so hungry and there are not lots of choices of restaurants around this area and warung boga samatra was the only one that we could find and just 2 mins walking from our hotel. After we tried and ate their sweet and sour chicken, we ended up ate in this Warung during our 4 days stay in Candidasa, just because all their foods were cookly fresh and so goooooood. My boyfriend's fav meal here are their nasi goreng special with crispy chicken and of course their sweet and sour chicken. My fav are their sate ayam, especially with their special sauce (not your regular peanut sauce). It was so good, the satay meat were so moist and not dry, coated with well with their special sauce. And the Kangkung. OMG !!! One of my fav meal.

I will def come back again, to try their other menu. Def worth the price in my opinion. I also really miss the owner of this Warung and their 2 lovely Sons, because they are all really nice and so friendly. I wish they open a restaurant here in Berlin.

Amazing wurung!! We had 5 meals here from our 3 nights stay at the Candi Beach Resort. It is located right outside the resort and serve authentic Balinese food at reasonable price! We had a wide variety of items from the menu and all taste good! All food and drinks are made fresh upon order so you can customise to your taste.. if you prefer more or less spicy etc. Babi randang, ikan Pepes, grilled mahimahi with Sembal Merah and pork ribs all must try!

Do drop by this locally owned wurung with friendly service from the chef and her family when you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.

P.S: I came here during May 2022 and they have a cute little puppy Molly running around.. adding much joy to dine in...

Have the grilled snaper with fried rice! You won't be sorry.

The first impression of this little establishment may not be all that. The toilet facilities need a lot of improvement. The cook could also start being cognizant of her appearance. When we randomly found the restaurant, the cook/owner wore a dirty shirt making it challenging to take her seriously.

Nevertheless, we were hungry and hot and stayed to grab a meal. Although some meals were not the best, the grilled snaper was a winner. We even went back before leaving Candidasa.

Final thought.... Warung Boga Samatra deserves more...
