Warung Lu Putu — Restaurant in Kecamatan Manggis

The restaurant was recommended to us by our driver otherwise we would never have found it. It was a good choice as it provides transport to and from your hotel. We were advised to request the chicken and duck cooked 'be tutu' (slow cooked) which needs to be reserved in advance.

It's a nice restaurant with an authentic and chilled vibe and a good menu. Our dishes were very well presented and prepared. 1 whole chicken and 1 whole duck was 500k. Not the largest of birds but sufficient for 4, especially with a soup starter and dessert. They come complete with heads, so be prepared, lol... You also need to carve/strip the meat.

It was quite busy when we went, and service was a little variable, but then we discovered the bell on the table...

Overall, it was a good find and an above average experience at La Putu. Well worth...

Unfortunately my grilled mahi mahi was way over done. Making it dry, a little burnt and not very enjoyable. The side of vegetables was 3 carrot sticks, 3 beans and about 5 chips, not really enough. My friends carbonara was lacking the creaminess it should have had and was a bit dry as well. The beers were cold. The gelato delicious.

We had 2 servers. One was chatty and polite and professional. The other came at us, from 3 feet away, almost yelling at us if we were ready to order, whilst we were in conversation, thus interrupting and talking over us. She did not smile. Was not polite. Was not professional. I'd say she was actually rude.

It's a comfortable relaxing restaurant. Nice gardens. Clean...

I almost have no words for the ambience in this place. When entering, you’re met with the most peaceful environment including lit candles, small bridges made for passing the small ponds with lots of beautiful fish in them, it’s absolutely amazing.

I tried the Balinese rice table for 2, which was extremely good! Just the right amount for 2 people as well. They have a section on the menu for vegetarians, which is a plus. We also tried some of their cocktails, including the pink lady, the melonade, the messicano and some others. Their cocktail game does unfortunately not live up to the standards of the other subjects. They’re fine, but do not match the level of deliciousness...
