House Market — Hotel in Kecamatan Sidemen

MOLD: room, pillows, and mattress covered in at least three different types of mold. I believe there are multiple buildings, which are why she has some good reviews. I had a headache the whole stay and woke up with puffy eyes and face. Room smelled, but Bathroom smelled unconsciousable. DISHONEST: I booked another place for what was supposed to be my third night there, being unable to find another for my second. I told the host she could keep my money but I’d be leaving early. After thinking on it, I told her (very politely) about the mold (thinking maybe she had cleaning staff and didn’t know). She then cancelled my booking.com reservation, pressured me into accepting cancellation while assuring me that I could stay there that night, and the minute I accepted she told me to “get out now”. At 7:30 PM. In the pitch dark. also the mattress was disgusting, not not convinced there were bed bugs she also sent me really pushy texts to sign up for the program during the duration of my stay.

This is a very lovely homestay. It’s located right in downtown Sideman. It is located close to the Sideman Market. The grounds are beautiful, the family are friendly and helpful, and they go out of their way to help you. The room was clean, it had a fan, and two outlets in the entire unit. Family extremely accommodating, will bring you hot water if you’d like to make coffee or tea. They’re open to any ideas about possibilities for breakfast or anything else. they do have an extensive parking lot on their property, however it is tight to get down the alley way to the property. J’ai réservé une Chambre Double n1 (35€) sur Booking et une amie à moi a réservé l’Appartement n4 (29€) pour les mêmes nuits. Lors de mon arrivée sur les lieux, personne n’était là pour nous accueillir et nous avons dû attendre (il n’y a pas de réception). Une personne du staff est venue pour nous donner les clés. La chambre ne ressemblait pas du tout aux photos sur le site : vétuste, pleine de moisissures, une invasion de fourmi dans la salle de bain et le ménage n’était même pas réalisé (poussières). Le ventilateur (qui est minuscule) était plein de poussière. Les fenêtres du haut n’ont pas de carreaux donc on entend tout ce qui se passe dehors (coq, conversation, scooters, route…) J’ai directement appelé la propriétaire qui est venu et qui a accepté de me rembourser. Impossible pour moi de dormir dans cette chambre (et pourtant, j’ai dormi dans des logements très rudimentaire lors de précédentes excursions). En revanche, réserver un logement pour un prix abordable au dernier moment dans un petit village comme Sidemen est presque impossible. J’ai logé dans la chambre de la personne avec qui j’étais venue pour une nuit - qui était en bien meilleur état pour moi cher (d’où les deux étoiles, car si vous prenez les appartements, ils sont très beaux). Un dégât des eaux avait du avoir lieu dans le plafond mais l’appartement était repeint, avec une belle salle de bain et des murs qui tiennent sans moisissures. Le mobilier et les équipements étaient également en très bon état. En revanche, la propriétaire des lieux a l’air gentille et répond rapidement aux messages - ce qui m’a fait hésité à mettre cet avis mais je me suis dis que j’aurais aimé être prévenu avant de réserver le logement.
