The location of Lila Stana speaks for itself. Nestled in between the winding hills and luscious rice fields of Sidemen, the humble, yet luxurious, villa breathes comfort and relaxation. Every morning, we were greeted with a breathtaking view of Mt. Agung and the therapeutic smells of incense burning nearby. For the adventure seekers, Lila Stana is just a short ride from some of Bali's best hiking adventures. For the beach lovers, the tropical oasis you've always dreamed of is also just a quick jaunt away.
While the clean room and breathtaking scenery alone are with a visit, the real magic of Lila Stana lies within the kind and gracious hosts. They went above and beyond expectations during my two days there. After waking up to take in the view, a delicious Balinese breakfast was brought out to us as we conversed with the owner and his family. Later that night, they invited us across the street to their home for dinner and a true Balinese experience. If they ever offer this to you, I highly recommend you participate.
Later that night, Gusti introduced us to his wife, children, and parents while teaching us some of the beautiful traditions of Balinese culture. The meal itself was exquisite, all made from local ingredients right outside the property. To top it all off, we had a few shots of "arak" the local alcohol made from coconut (I think).
We couldn't ask for a more pleasant night surrounded by such kind and friendly hosts. I should also add, while they did not request any sort of money for this meal, I think it's only fair to give them a little extra since they truly do put a lot of effort into everything.
All in all, you would be foolish to pass...
Read moreI have made the reservation for one night in September using the bookimg.com. I have received the confirmation by mail including all details and reservation number as usual it is. But after one week I have got the mail from the Guesthouse (thru booking.com) not signed by anyone (!) telling that: " the room has been fully booked during the period your request"... It means they rejected my reservation which was confirmed by them one week earlier, which is completely not professional and not acceptable.||I have chosen such location because it is not so far from Sidemen village (in the walking distance). They wanted to reallocate me to another guesthouse (the same owner) not telling anything about the conditions and where it is (It is much far away from Sidemen village). Next day when I have called bookiing.com to solve the issue, I have learned that the new location is even more expensive.... ||I do...
Read moreThis place is amazing! You get your own little house with nothing around you, alittle balcony with an amazing wiew snd a realy nice half-open-air bath. The owners family live 100m away and are really helpful and friendly. They bring the really yummy breakfast im the morning, clean the room (even new sheets every day) and Gusti the owner took us to the rice fields around Sidemen. |Highlight was, when they invited us over for dinner. We learned how his mother makes sarongs, had a tasty dinner and helped with the ceremony flowers. |So why not 5 stars? Point one: no wifi (but there's a cafe with wifi 200m around the corner) and point two: the warungs (restaurants) are a 10min walk away.|But the room is wort a little bit walking (or rent a motorscooter like many others do)|If you need a room in Sidemen i would highly...
