We rented a 3 bedroom villa at Mahagiri Dreamland Villas for a couple of weeks. The size of the villa is remarkable. 1 very large common area for seating, dining and kitchen. 1 very large bedroom with a walk-in closet and private bathroom and shower. 2 rather large bedrooms each with private bathroom and shower. All of these rooms surround an outdoor private pool with lounge chairs and palm trees. The pool area is truly private, surrounded by 10 foot walls, and is quite suitable for a nice refreshing dip whenever the mood strikes you. The sitting, dining and kitchen area has a large sectional sofa and a dining table for 8. The master bedroom has a 4 poster. All beds are king size and very comfortable with good linens. All the bathrooms have a very large tub and traditional outdoor shower, again very private. Towels and amenities are decent. All rooms have a reasonably quiet air conditioning unit. But I'll share more on that later.||||The villa common areas include a public pool, restaurant, bar, spa and gym. The restaurant is adequate but better food can be found not far from the villa. The spa room is mostly used for massage, where prices are very reasonable: $28 USD for 90 minutes, and the treatment was professional. Cheaper spa prices can be found elsewhere but then you have to get there and back. We didn't use the gym so can't say anything about it.||||All things considered, we felt this villa was an excellent value and would easily return. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is because there were some maintenance issues with 3 of the 4 AC units. I think these are older AC units and have trouble holding their charge. But the service to come charge them up was prompt. We only spent one night without AC in one of the bedrooms. And that was only because we didn't notice it not working until late at night and by then the maintenance people had gone home for the day.||||The staff is very attentive and interested in serving you as well as possible. At every turn we were asked how things were, were we enjoying ourselves, was they anything we needed, etc. Very friendly people who keep the place running smoothly.||||The villa location is excellent. Only 15 minutes drive to many beaches and restaurants. Be sure to hire a car and driver. You probably do not want to drive in Bali. Cars with drivers are cheap by comparison. Ours was only $35 per day for 10 hours, arranged through a local tour company.||||Finally, I want to say something about the area restaurants. You can eat really, really cheaply in Bali. Indonesian specialties are plentiful and delicious. But spend a tiny bit more for typical western fare and you will be surprised at the high quality and low price. We tried two italian restaurants, not more than 15 minutes from the villa, and each was outstanding. And I don't mean sort of. They were both top notch, obviously with kitchens that knew what they were doing. And only about $15 USD per person. Ridiculous!||||Anyway, if you're looking for a well located, spacious villa in Dreamland you can't go wrong with...

Read moreThis place is not okay. We stayed here one night to go to Savaya and yes it's in an ok location but no I will not be coming back. The rooms and villas are big however the cleanliness is not okay. When we arrived we had to have an air freshener put in the main communal area because it smelt rotten. Everything was damp and sticky. Our sheets needed to be changed as they had brown and black marks over the pillow and bedding. The day beds, pool and floors were all extremely dirty also, I left here feeling like I needed a big shower. And as for the noises during the night... I was woken several times from roosters, frogs and motorbikes from the road just outside. Inside the rooms we had geckos, mosquitoes and little flies everywhere. For $290 a night, do not waste your money. I’m saying this, the workers are very helpful and nice but this place is run down… Someone else has mentioned this in a review but I have to agree, I believe bad reviews are being removed because this place is not 4.4 stars. Don’t...
