Mariani International Hotel — Hotel in Padang

I am very disappointed and very amazed at the way the reservation system operated by Mariani Hotel Padang. There were 4 of us travelling to Padang on the 4-6 August 2016. My brother-in-law had booked 2 rooms for us at Mariani International Hotel for 4-6 August 2016. I called twice to confirm and offered to pay a transfer cash deposit or use my credit card to make sure that our rooms are available and booked! I spoke to Mr Romy and Ms Amel about the deposit and both decline affirmatively the deposit saying that the rooms are confirmed ours and no deposit is necessary! On the eve of our arrival I called again and this time Ms Cece conveniently & easily said that our rooms are occupied and taken by others and they are fully booked although the reservation made by us is still clear not erased! They conveniently send us to another hotel not far. What they should have done when the hotel is packed is that they should have call us to confirm of our arrival or accept our deposit! What kind of "international" hotel is this? It is a disgraceful "international" hotel and anyone who wishes to stay there should be careful or else they may even create an excuse of another kind as they do not have any regard nor intergrity to confirmation,...

Old Hotel , good location but poor services. Uncourteous staff. Not maintain cleanliness of area clearly ,lobby set up look like a terminal. Big Room with minim decoration , no luggage rack, just a small table with electric pot and coffee services . Rack towel looks have to resrew on the wall. The water not spreading properly. Unfortunately welcome by big cockroach, the Housekeeping should often to do pest control maintenance/ fumigation. Small area restaurant with minimize local food , but every service for breakfast and dinner refill not be done until guest complaint that the food should be refilled ,the food quality and variety should be improve. I arrived here from Dumai at 6.00 am without a reservation. In desperate need of some sleep the receptionist had a room ready for a 7.00 am check in at no extra charge. The rooms do need some updating but are comprehensively kitted out with-LCD TV- Movie channels-Remote AC- Tea/coffee-Toiletries -Numerous charging points-Hot power shower - Ample storage space and ultra fast WIFI. ||Room cleaning is efficient and at your convenience, breakfast can only be described as adequate but toast, coffee and fruit is ok for me. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.||Try the Enhaii restaurant out, 300 yards away, the food is exceptional...
