HARPER Palembang — Hotel in Palembang

Food taste was good & they have many varieties of food available. Building still new & have modern minimalist style. Staff was friendly & nice. Strategic location but a bit traffic due to streets being worked on. Room was clean.

The hotel & service itself still need many improvement. Especially for the suite room.

Felt like staying on regular room. Room is a bit small for a suite also room don’t give any extra, like u still got to pay for the mini bar for 100k++ just for a chocolate bar pringles & uc100 that u can bought much cheaper on mini-market nearby. Mineral water for 25k, they do give dispenser water on a jug & can refill it outside though…

I did a big event here (wedding) as a bride but didn’t even get any complimentary gift? While usually, other hotels give u something like a small congratulations cake or decorate the bride rooms a bit to congratulate the couples.

For a 4-star hotel I will be honest, I’m kinda disappointed. I have stayed in many hotels before that only 3 stars & have better service.

Its also a bit difficult to access the rooms ‘cus each card only can access 1 floor & need to ask the receptionist for acces to other guest floors. They only have 2 elevators available so sometimes need to wait a long time.

No cotton bud available on the toilets & only basic stuff that you can get in any other hotels. Lack of tissue, only tissue available on the toilet also…

I also ask for scissors burtthe hotel say they cannot give a customer sharp objects & need to see what we gonna use it for, I appreciate for their concern about safety, but need to wait for like 30-45 minutes for them to come, while I just really need those scissors to open my gown. (in the end I open it with my own nail clippers)

Room price also quite expensive than other hotels, but I expect a “special” price for someone that doing & paying for a big event.

Hotel access also need to be improve ‘cus just to drop off a guest need to go through the basement & sometimes need to pay the parking fee.

I’m sorry for leaving this review but I just being honest with my experience while staying...

One of the best hospitality, very good in assisting us, moreover one of my family member who requires wheel chair, very welcomed by them, and at the breakfast moment, the employees are very kind to us..but the taste is kinda poor. They're decorating the food like in the online shows, but tasted like the screen of the gadget, lack of salts, very few spices, no unique aroma or whatsoever....just plain standard spices like salt. It's just sad that they're all about image, but tasted poorly. They served fried rice for breakfast....really tasteless....i even though that was white rice....it can be that my tongue is cheap tongue, not suitable for 5star hotels. But Everytime i eat at Arista or Santika or Zuri, they never failed me. Harper is very similar to Novotel when comes to food taste....too little spices....no satisfaction at all....great services and people skill however.... they're kinda smart to mix paprika with yoghurt, but for the salad they don't prepare sesame mayonnaise, which is one of the best scent of mayo for these days......young chefs must be updated about this......the sunny side up is quite perfect, but they should've spread the white so it get equal fried texture....instead they let the egg just sit there...making the white egg in the center still very raw, if they spread the white, only the yellow that will raw, and all of the whites go crispy and that's the amazing...

New hotel under management of Aston in Palembang. The room is quite big, clean, has chair with table inside for deluxe room. The tv is 29 inch I suppose, mainly movie channel like HBO and others. The bed is comfy and fluffy. You won't get bottled mineral water as they move to more eco-friendly business. But you can fill the water from water dispenser out of the room for free, in the gang corridor. So it's a plus for customer who needs more water for drink. The shower works well with hot and cold options. Though the other amenities are quite standard. However, what I heard from local, if there's heavy rains, the street in front of hotel will got flooded. However, if you got trapped in the hotel, you can use the facilities available from swimming pool and also gym facilities. The restaurant also offers variety of foods. They also offer some amazing promotion lime all you can eat dim sum...
