Just returned home from a 7 night stay at Kappa Senses in Ubud with my partner. We stayed in the “one bedroom pool villa with rice field view”. The view from the infinity pool was amazing. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and we had the option to have our bedding sheets and all bath towels changed daily. We were supplied with fresh bottles of water daily to get us by (6 small bottles). The open-air bathroom was my favourite part of the villa, surrounded by beautiful plants that really made it feel like a jungle stay! the bath tub and showers were great to use, and had their own shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also, they supplied us with dental kits, toothbrushs and toothpastes, shower caps, a sewing kit, shaving kits and sanitary bags, all which came in very handy! The OmTara Spa by Clarins was a great experience. We both had two 60 minute massages, and I had a manicure and pedicure. The service was 10/10, and all great quality products were used. With every service, you also recieve a complimentary drink at the beginning, use of the steam room and sauna, and time to relax in their relaxation lounge upstairs with amazing views and complimentary ginger tea. The Kelapa pool side restaurant was our favourite with delicious food and amazing service. Anywhere with complimentary breadsticks is a winner for me. The highlight for us though was the daily buffet breakfast. There were so many options to choose from (even vegan options which I thought was great). We really loved the pastries and the freshly squeezed juice to order. There’s options of sweets, cereals, pastries, cheeses, curries, noodles and rice. But you could also order from the staff eggs however you want it, pancakes and crepes. The view from the breakfast restaurant was lovely looking out onto the rice fields too. The whole resort was in pristine condition, and every tiny little detail to make the whole place look beautiful didn’t go unnoticed. You can really tell the hard work that the staff put into the upkeep of this resort. We really appreciate the complimentary shuttle service that can take you to and from Ubud centre at certain times. (Staff will supply you with the shuttle schedule). However whenever we needed a lift anywhere in Ubud on our own schedule, the staff would book us a driver at whatever time for a fee of about $15-20 AUD per ride. Whenever we were ready to return to the resort, we just messaged reception on Whatsapp to book another driver.
I also celebrated my birthday during my stay, and they definitely make you feel special with a couple of little surprises which were hugely appreciated. The small gifts placed on our bed every night will also be kept as a nice memory of our time spent in Kappa Senses.
Thank-you to all the staff at Kappa Senses for making my first trip to Bali an...
Read moreWe stayed at Kappa Senses for part of our honeymoon in Bali. The best way I could describe this place is heaven on earth. It is such a peaceful and relaxing place. The grounds and facilities are beautiful! We had a private villa with our own swim up pool and the room was stunning and very comfortable.
The food in all of the restaurants was delicious! Had a great selection to choose from and everything that we had we enjoyed. The fine dining restaurant was just ok, it was tasty but the caliber of food was similar to the rest of the resort just more expensive for smaller portions. I preferred to eat at the other restaurants. Room service was 24 hours and had a great selection.
There was a great variety of activities being run by the resort. We really enjoyed the yoga classes and the cultural activities. They also offer a shuttle service that brings you right in to Ubud city centre.
The Spa was AMAZING. We did a couples spa package and it was incredible. The quality of services was great and the facility was impeccably clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
In fact, the biggest take away from our stay at Kappa Senses was the incredible customer service. Every single person who worked on the resort was extremely friendly. Always greeting us with a smile, taking interest in our plans for the day, offering suggestions on things to do and places to see.
I want to take a moment to mention a couple people by name who had made such a positive impact on our stay,
At breakfast we were always assisted by Ketut, she was very sweet and always greeted us good morning with a smile on her face. Dewa worked the coffee bar and made incredible cappuccinos. He was very skilled in latte art and when I had complimented a particular design that I liked between the 2 of them they remembered which ones I had complimented so that the following days at breakfast when I ordered my morning cappuccino they would be sure to make mine with the designs they knew I liked. It’s in the little details like that, that really make your stay enjoyable. YuDe, Della and Devi worked at the restaurants on the resort and always provided exceptional service. They were very nice and always went above and beyond to make sure that all our needs were met. Mustika, who works at the permaculture farm, is a very kind man. He toured us around the farm allowing us to feed the animals with him. It became a bit of a routine for us that we would go for breakfast and afterwards go and feed the animals breakfast and have a conversation with Mustika. He became like a friend to us during our stay.
Overall we really enjoyed our time at Kappa Senses. If you are looking for a very zen and relaxed environment in a beautiful location with exceptional customer service I would highly recommend...
Read moreI travel to Bali 2-3 times a year and typically stay in luxury villas for the privacy and convenience of having our own space, particularly a private pool. As I was travelling on my own on this occasion, I decided to try something different and opted for resort accommodation, staying in a private pool villa. Kappa Senses Ubud exceeded all my expectations and has completely converted me back to resorts as I really felt I experienced the best of both worlds here.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptional. They gave me a personal tour of the property, ensuring I knew where all the facilities and restaurants were before escorting me to my stunning one-bedroom pool villa with a serene garden view. This level of care and attention to detail set the tone for my entire stay.
Even though the resort is new, what stood out most was the authentic Balinese charm of the resort and the manner in which they've integrated a first class modern resort with the local culture. So many new properties in Bali are built with a modern, Western style, but Kappa Senses beautifully incorporates traditional Balinese architecture into its design. From the beautiful timber flooring to the high thatched ceiling and the gorgeous carved doors leaving to the outdoor bathroom, the standalone villa felt like a private oasis, offering privacy while still feeling secure and safe. It was the perfect balance of exclusivity whilst still having access to all the wonderful resort amenities.
Speaking of amenities, the hotel’s pools were a highlight for me, especially the jungle pool. Tucked away in the lower part of the vast property, this expansive pool felt like a natural freshwater swimming hole, complete with a cascading waterfall and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. It was pure magic.
Being French-owned, the food of course was wonderful and the breakfast was an experience in itself. The buffet featured an extensive selection to cater to all tastes, plus something that is NOT so typical in Balinese hotels - freshly baked patisseries, croissants, Danishes, breads, and, of course, crepes. It was the perfect way to start each day, taking in the stunning views of the rice fields.
The staff’s warmth and attentiveness were remarkable. Every interaction felt personal and genuine. One evening, as I returned to my villa, a torrential downpour began - a staff member appeared out of nowhere with an umbrella, ensuring I stayed dry. It’s little touches like these that truly make a stay memorable.
Kappa Senses Ubud is a wonderful haven in the jungle that combines the best of Balinese charm, and five-star resort living. I cannot fault my stay and can’t wait to return on my next...
