Ayung Dewata Rafting — Attraction in Pulau Bali

SO SO GOOD! I recommend this to EVERYONE. we took the RAFTING + APV + lunch package. ( approximately 2 hrs + 2 hrs) me + hubby + a 7 year old girl. I thought it would be very tiring & a bit too dangerous for kids, but I WAS WRONG. They make it so FUN and SAFE!

RAFTING = you meet at the meeting point for registration & safety gears, then they’ll drive you to the river drop point. And pick you up from the finish point. our guide for rafting name “monkey” is kind, and fun personality, friendly, AND REALLY SKILLED , the 3 of us accompanied by him is 4 people, only “monkey”, hubby & I do the rowing. our raft NEVER stuck on the rocks while we hover by some other raft from other company that stuck on certain point along the river, and he help us take pictures & videos with such professional result. On top of that he help our daughter climb up and down the stairs (some steps is 25-30cm height). We pass a few waterfall, swim in the river, there is a GIANT slide for the raft, oh it is so fun! The 2 hours so enjoyable, it went by just like that! this is my daughter’s first time and SHE LOVES IT! You can wear your sandals (preferably the non slippery one / like us we go bare foot ) , they provide hot water for shower, shampoo& liquid soap, towels, plastic bags, all you can eat lunch, have to take clothes for change, or they also sell some (but a few potions only) they sell the plastic to cover your phone for 30.000 IDR. Buy it! so worth the money.

The ATV = they will drive you from the meeting point to the playing track, provided boots and safety gears. This is our first experience so they give us some “driving” lesson. i really don’t recommend this for people who CANNOT DRIVE, because for a first-timer it is quite challenging even for me and hubby who are used to drive. this is more like a “jungle” APV that you drive through a small waterfall , in and out of a cave, into the river ( you are guaranteed to be wet) climb up and down a 45 degree ramp, through the rice paddy & mud puddle, so many to see, so fun, we ride 2 APV, me with my daughter , and one for my husband. There are 2 guide that come with us. One take all the photo & video, And the photos and videos ARE AMAZINGGGGGGG. They are professionally photographed , I swear I’m so happy with the result! Our APV break down in the river because I can’t go through and the water goes into the engine, but our guide, they are so skilled and fix it in no time. Sometimes we’re stuck but they help us out like literally PUSH and unstuck our APV. I feel safe around them. I’m not sure their name sounds like Komang lebet & pongky.

Genuinely one of the coolest things to do in the neighbourhood! Since there is close to no info online about anything, I’ll put some here: The price is 900.000 IDR per person, with some raising eyebrows we got it down to 700.000, but I also saw people getting it down to 500.000, so please negotiate about the price before paying. At the start there’re free lockers for your stuff, you’ll be paired with a guide, and brought with a car to the rafting place, which is a 5 min drive. When arrived, you have to walk down a lot of stairs for around 10 minutes. So bring flipflops. Don’t bring shoes, cause you will get very wet in the boat. When arrived at the river, you will get in a boat, which allow a max of 6 people, the guide excluded. The river is quite wild, but not too wild, probably depending on the weather. We did it for the first time, and it was a good beginner level. Not too wild, but still very fun. The trip takes 1,5-2 hours, and again, you will get wet, very wet, so bring clothes that may get wet, and bring an extra set of clothes for afterwards. During the trip you’re allowed to swim in the river on a couple of spots. You will have a halftime break for around ten minutes, where you can buy a drink, which you can pay afterwards at the start. During the trip there’re a couple of photo and video points, which you can buy afterwards. Prices: IDR 150.000 for only the pictures, 300.000 for the pictures and two videos. They will be sent to you by a Google drive link via WhatsApp. At the end of the trip there are stairs to the top, this time it’s like a 5 minute trip to the top, which is a little exhausting. At the top, you will again get in a car which takes you to the starting point. At the starting point, you’ll get a towel and a bag for your wet clothes, and you’re able to take a shower. Not the cleanest showers but they’re fine. There’s shampoo, and curtains for your privacy. After the shower, there’s a free (well, it’s in the price you paid before) lunch, which was surprisingly good.

Absolutely amazing experience, great time! Staff was friendly and made sure everyone had fun. At times you may come close to or bump into other rafts and it turns into a splashing party. So you will get wet no matter what! Topik was our captian and allowed us to jump in the river (water levels dependent on season.) Anyway, in the beginning they’ll fit you with a helmet and life jacket, they’re a little stinky but obviously necessary. They’ll drive you to another location then the walk begins, along your journey to the stairs (a lot of them,) you will encounter a woman that is selling waterproof cases for your phone (simple plastic case on a lanyard.) I got one but later thought it probably wouldn’t take great vids/pics but I was wrong… thank goodness! Along the river there are a couple of stops, first one for water and the second for snacks & drinks. They were bumping music, you should definitely dance a bit because life is amazing and you should enjoy it. They have cup of noodle & chips, as well as Bintang, Water, & Fanta available for purchase (you’ll pay for everything you purchase on the river when you return to the starting location.) Lockers, showers, towels are all provided, oh almost forgot your captian will hold your phone, smokes, vapes in a dry bag during the activity. When you get back lunch will be provided and I thought it was damn good. Photos & videos are available to purchase after you shower, change & eat. They will give you a physical SD card or send everything to your Google Drive.
