We recently had the pleasure of dining at Kokokan Restaurant in Ubud, what absolute culinary theatre, a performance that rivals any hatted restaurant. The location overlooking the rise fields is mesmerising. The menu is well-crafted with flavours that take you on a journey through Balinese cuisine. Each dish was a work of art, not only in presentation but in taste. The flavours are bold and expertly executed, it's evident that the chefs take great pride in their craft. The service here is top-notch, and the staff is as warm and friendly as the Balinese hospitality is renowned for. They're knowledgeable about the menu and can provide excellent recommendations and wine pairings, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Kokokan Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's a culinary performance. It's a destination that blends gastronomy with theatre in a way that's truly unforgettable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dining experience that goes beyond. We look forward to coming back next time we...
Read moreWe absolutely loved Kappa Senses but were extremely disappointed in their restaurant Kokokan (so expensive for Bali too). We saved this for our last night hoping to have a great food experience but everything tasted poorly. Ingredients didn't work well together (eg eel and duck liver mousse) and despite the beautiful presentation, the ingredients had poor taste, presumably because of the poor quality of the ingredients to start with. Maybe due to too big of a menu? I would offer a much smaller menu but make sure that the ingredients are high quality, fresh and that the execution of every dish is top notch. We shared 6 dishes altogether and none of them were good. Some of them were almost inedible. We left feeling very disappointed and lighter of AUD200! It was also such a surprise because of the great reviews I had read online. The staff was lovely and that salvaged the experience. We will definitely come back to Kappa Senses and really hope next time the restaurant...
Read moreKokokan Restaurant in Ubud is a culinary gem that truly deserves five stars. From the moment we started with the seared scallop and cauliflower mousse, followed by the exquisite L’huitre, we knew we were in for a treat. The main courses of braised and smoked infused octopus and Le Saumon were both prepared to perfection, each bite bursting with flavor. To top off the meal, the Panna Cotta and Le Dome desserts were incredibly delicious, offering a delightful end to a fantastic dining experience. Adding to the charm, Danu and Dita, two amazing staff members, made us feel comfortable and cozy throughout our visit. The seamless blend of flavors, impeccable presentation, and outstanding service make Kokokan Restaurant a must-visit for any...
