Matahari Villas — Hotel in Pulau Bali

After spending 2 months at Matahari Villas it is definitely a worthwhile stay no matter how long you plan to stay in Bali.

Located about 5-10 mins by car/scooter to central Ubud it is well located to escape the hustle and bustle in what is and should be a relaxing part of the world. Still you do need your own transport or have a taxi on call to get around. The local village is very traditional and it is a unique experience to spend time in this area.

The Villa we stayed in 'Padi Villa' is a well appointed 2 bedroom villa with a small deck overlooking the Lodtunah Rice Paddies (Subak). The bathroom is massive and it has a self-contained kitchen with a deck right on the rice paddies.

The area is spacious and has a large open roof keeping things cool. The pool is located next door and an excellent way to cool off in the heat of the day.

The staff at Matahari Villas are amazing and there is a cleaning service everyday with breakfast included for as little as $5 a day including an omelette and fresh fruit platter.

The main caretaker is Made and he can arrange taxis, tours and anything else you need during your stay. We booked via Airbnb.

Warung 9 and a Usha Cafe are at the end of the street if you need to get some local lunch or dinner....

Perfect pick-up from the Airport (unless late arrival). Spacious rooms (I had a two bedroom villa with with sight on the Paddy field). Clean and everything worked. Nice Balinese furniture. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was everyday made in the house. The cleaning was made very well (also daily). The pool ist fantastic. It was just a perfect stay. Matahari villas is a little bit outside of Ubud but with the scooter you have only ten minutes to the central of the town. If somebody is lookfor a quite, luxurios space to spend some quite days it's absolutely perfect. Also due to Made, the manager. He is all days in a good mood and do everything to make your stay...

This is the most tranquil, relaxed holiday I have ever had. Just the beautiful surrounds of my villa and the complex, with peace and quiet was enough, but the beautiful polite staff topped off the experience for me. Nothing is too much trouble for them to organise and deliver. I will never get bored of having my breakfast cooked for me in my villa, and four masseurs arriving at once so my friends and I could have massages all at the same time. With airport pickup included, there was not much more to organise except whether to have your swim in the gorgeous pool before or after your breakfast. I fell in love with Matahari Villas, and I will return....
