Natya Resort Ubud — Hotel in Pulau Bali

Sadly incredibly disappointed with this resort — yes, shocking because every single review below is amazing (I was shocked myself with the experience)! We booked Natya very last minute for our honeymoon and received the last minute family room. We only booked one night there because the cost was pretty high since we booked so late, however, it almost feels like we were treated worse than other guests simply because we were only staying there one night. I called ahead of time letting them know there’s a high chance we will get there before check in (1 pm). When doing this at other luxury hotels in Bali, we always got the room early — this wasn’t the case for Natya. We arrived, and when the lady at reception realized we’re only staying one night, she looked shocked. Regardless, we awaited in the lobby until 2pm to check in (regular check in time). During check in, we received a 21% off voucher for any massage we book. We informed them that we already actually booked a massage with our room through them, and were wondering if we could use the voucher for that. They said no. When we went downstairs to the spa later on, we were offered the treatments we booked online for one hour. But when looking at the prices in their spa book, they were significantly cheaper than what we had booked online! We went back upstairs and settled on an agreement to get a massage for 90 minutes and pay the remaining balance. My advice to Natya would be to make matching, equal, and fair offers to ANYONE who books massages online as those people would normally get in person (including any in-person vouchers people receive). It’s not fair to leave online massage-booking guests out of the loop and then try to rip them off when seeing them in person. After the whole massage mishap, we felt the whole staff was treating us a little weird (aside from the chef/those in the kitchen who were the sweetest!) Really wish we could’ve enjoyed the experience more. The hotel was beautiful (although the private pool in our room was way too cold) but I just think a lot of miscommunication happened that shouldn’t have. Before leaving, they did ask us for feedback. We truthfully had a strict schedule that day and didn’t have time to talk them through all this - but hopefully they see this review and know how to improve. Whether it was helping us book a private driver, arrange a motorbike, or get a ferry to Gili T, they handled everything with enthusiasm and genuine warmth.
