We decided to book our stay at The Sunset House Ubud after seeing the pictures here on TA and on the bookings site. It definitely did not disappoint! The views of the rice field are amazing! |Our room (no 101) was huge and clean, and so was the bathroom. The bedmatras was a bit hard but we slept well. Every morning our breakfast was served in our room/ on the balcony and it was a bliss waking up in such beautiful surroundings. ||What made this place amazing apart from the balcony views are the people running The Sunset House Ubud. They were the cutest people we met during our trip in Asia! Very sweet and helpful, and we were lucky to witness a local ceremony when they asked us to join them. They dressed us up in a sarong and the ceremony was beautiful.||Location-wise, the guest house is a bit further away from Ubud center (where it's nice and quiet- the way we like it). It takes about a 10min drive to get there and whenever we needed we could ask Kadek from the Sunset House Ubud to drive us there for IDR 50K only. |We also arranged our airport transfer with the Sunset House Ubud for IDR 350k. Our flight arrived late around 9pm at DPS airport and we didn't want any fuss with taxi drivers who mights not be able to find the guest house, since it's a 90 min to 2 hrs drive to Ubud. When arriving at 23.00 hrs we were welcomed warmly by the entire family :) ||Now for the downsides: the fridge wasn't working well, but we didn't need it and the tv signal was weak for which we also did not care since we didn't visit the Sunset House Ubud to watch telly.||Our stay was a perfect romantic getaway and we wished we could have...
Read moreFor your peace of mind, strongly not recommended. I was full of hope when I booked this place for my first 5 nights in Indonesia. It looked great, nice view and photos. However, 6 hours before we land in Bali, I got a text message from the hotel saying that my booking has been cancelled for a questionable reason (see message below). We had to book a last minute hotel while in the Dubai airport (4x the price). The hotel was not responsive, didn't provide any help and didn't reply to our further messages.
This place may be a good hotel in Ubud. But considering how unstable, opaque and dishonest they were with us I strongly advise that you do not book with them.
"I am putu from sunset house ubud and we deeply apologize to inform you that we have no room available for your stay because there was something wrong with our system. Read moreWe had such a lovely stay here! The hotel rooms are brand new and spotless. |Each morning your breakfast is brought to your room at what ever time you request. The options at the time were scrambled eggs on toast, banana pancakes, soup and noodles. We had the pancakes one day and scrambled eggs the other. Both of which were very nice. |The rooms are huge! Ours had air con, tv, wifi, phone, hot water and balcony which looked out onto the rice fields. |It is a family run business and they are still building at the moment. |We had a free taxi service in and from ubud centre and they also offered day trips. |We booked our trip to the gili islands through them and they were also very good! |They have a little resturant in the village which is nice to go to in the evening and not too expensive. I had nasi goreng 40,000 and my partner had pork ribs 65,000. There are a few little shops in the village where you can het bottled water and snacks. |There isn't an ATM so take cash with you. |All in all, a...
