Don't second guess this just go.
We were fortunate enough to have lived accross the road from Tini Kitchen here in Ubud.
I've read reviews prior & all the other positives I've decided to go for it.
The Food is amazing. We've eaten here for a few occasions but the highlights for me were:
Tini Fried Noodles with Egg & 2 Chicken Satay.
Tom Ka Gai - Although a Thai dish this was excellently executed with all the necessary flavours on point (Lemongrass, lime, that warm hearty broth that hits your soul)
The Fish & Chips - It's red snapper fillets, delicately battered tempura style & served with chips & sauce. All the hidden spice notes are there that you'd expect from an Asian fried fish dish. I didn't even need to use any of the sauces for the fish because it would have changed the taste.
Dessert: We were treated to a black rice dessert pudding topped with ice cream & strawberries. This was a 1st for me & definitely a must try if you like rice pudding. The warm & cold combinations made the dessert lovely accompanied by the crunch from the strawberries.
The winner for me is the chicken satay that was served with my fried noodles but you can order it alone or with the mixed satay.
The Food I'd solidly give them a 15/5 I wasn't disappointed at all with anything I've tried.
The peanut sauce let me say is probably the best I've tasted in my life when it comes to a satay peanut sauce. Even the side road Warungs haven't got it this good. You get the distinct peanut note but other elements like coriander seed here & there.
Staff service is excellent, helpful & friend. I would even give then 10/5. Putu & Wina are they cooks I've met them personally & they actually come out to ask if you're happy with the food.
Deo our waiter does everything he can to assist you even with other random questions you have. He's a 17 year old kid who's so well mannered.
Atmosphere: Your sitting in front of a rice paddy. Usually there are people working in the paddy that gives you the sense that you're amongst the daily lives of the locals.
There's might music playing in the background, a fish pond beneath your feet, you can hear the gentle wind blow against the curtain of your seated area. It's just very serene yet words can only describe the atmosphere breiefly.
Just go. You won't regret it if you're in Ubud. All prices are inclusive of the 5% service charge & 10% tax & it's still cheaper than most restaurants selling the same...
Read moreThe staff doesn't seem to listen carefully to the special requests even after repeating it several times. When you get the sauce on the pasta when requested with no sauce (as it was meant for kids), and they offer to manually take it off? We still had to pay the full price as for seafood pasta though.. Mushroom should not be considered as vegetable imho. The soup looks like heated in the microwave because the bowl was extra hot (but not the soup), which is not a good practice. The meat from the burger is simply not eatable, as it had a lot of gristle in the beef. We left the plate half full because if that.
Gave it a try based on the number of other positive reviews, but not coming back unfortunately. Came out hungry, looking for another place for a dinner. This is a honest feedback, and I don't expect the restaurant to defend themselves, but take it as constructive opinion that could lead for improvement. Having read a review like this, would serve us choosing a better eating out...
Read moreThis was the closest restaurant from the Airbnb we were staying in. We went here for an early dinner, and the restaurant was empty. It's a nice little restaurant where you can have a peaceful meal, in the lap of nature, very romantic and soothing. But carry or apply some sort of mosquito repellent as there would be a lot of mosquitoes in the early evening due to the nearby fields.
The service was outstanding, the staff was extremely friendly, they recognized us the next day when we were walking by the restaurant and all of them greeted us very warmly.
Everything that we ordered was very delicious, the satay, burger, the mocktails. For me, the standout would be the Balinese chicken salad which was heavenly, one of the best salads I ever had.
Definitely recommend...
