Rimbun Canggu Hotel, Canggu: The glass pool overlooking the lush green was the only absolute reason we were here. This is Balinese greenscaping done right. Unfortunately, my wallet was stolen. I think it was housekeeping as I knew exactly where it was and we left without my wallet to get out for the day. I filed a police report but the officer first told me not to bother with filing an investigative report. He said just file a claim report. Thereafter, he asked me for bribe money. I consider the investigation a dead end. Apparently, unknown to us, hidden in a storage is a safe. Some guests I spoke to say their safe didn’t work. ||||I’ve combed through some reviews, and I think some are delusional with their expectations. At the price you’re paying, this is a green gem apart from the theft. We treated this as a crash pad for 2 nights (we arrived close to midnight) before moving on to another swankier spot. It was such an incredible value. Here are the quick pros and cons.||||Pros – The stunning pool and the jaw-dropping foliage. This is fabulous Balinese greenscaping. Lush Kitchen, which is tenanted out and not part of the hotel, is simply gorgeous with kickback vibes, beautiful and great-tasting food. You get discounts as a guest, at the restaurant. There’s also a chic chic chocolate atelier – Slab, owned by Lush Kitchen. This feels like a compound with a supermarket, Tygr – a Japanese eatery and a gym (also tenanted out). You can get a day pass at a discounted 150000 IDR if you present your door key. There’s a shared sauna, jacuzzi and ice bath in the gym. There’s also a deli or grocer where you get fresh bakes, healthy, organic groceries, and other wellness products. There’s CNN and movie channels. ||||Cons – Rooms are narrow and crammed. The bathroom seems a little rundown and we had ants at the sink. Toiletries are sparse – bring your own. Towels smell manky and are old. There are no lifts, so you haul your cases or bags first down 3 flights, then you go up another 3 flights in another stack. When it rains, and it bloody did when we were here – there’s no cover. It’s a design flaw and there are lots of design flaws here. ||||Be sensible and take your honeymoon stay elsewhere. If you’re looking for a decent crashpad, this could work. But bring your valuables along. I don’t trust housekeeping at all....
Read moreI booked the two bedroom villa. For me, the villa was too open, couldn't say it was a villa but more to a bedroom with open space. Other guests could walk around my villa as it's the first thing you'll see when you walk inside the villa area.
The rooms are big and they're clean. It's near other villa units so you can hear them. Great location 5-8 mins to beach by car (2km).
The staff was moderate, they didn't give much explanation. If you have a car, don't go here as there is no parking, very narrow road. They had units for last minute booking,...
Read moreI must express my sincere thanks to this villa, for the good momeries we had here. The best moment I had is having good breakfast with my partner in front of the room, enjoying the morning view and having small talk. ||||The villa provided us a lovely turn down service, thus we are able to rest comfortably after whole day activities. Other than the cozy room with a bath tub, We received great services from the staffs starting from the moment we arrived. We felt so welcomed because of their prompt approach and genuine attitude. ||||We really happy...
