I changed my five star review to this place because of today's incidents. the staffs mistreated me not fair today. Used to loooove this place before this incident occured. Little explanation: I regularly come here to work on weekend. Not everyday, not every weekend, maximum 3 saturdays in 1 month, therefore the staffs know me and my habit. If i come at 2pm i always ordering 1 coffee and sit to work for 4 hours ish. When i go there from 11am i will always buy lunch + coffee, sometimes even get dessert/fries. When i order only coffee i often go to the back bar myself (3times max and its not often) to ask for ice cubes because i'm a slow coffee drinker as their coffee is quite strong and just cause i like to bite the ice cubes. I went to the bar myself so that i dont bother the waitress too much. So back into the mistreated part. The problem that occured today is: when i went to the back to ask ice cube, suddenly the waitress said that they charged the ice cubes, when i ask why? New regulation from the manager, she said. So i ask: how much, 5,000 she said. I understand that they buy ice cubes from outside, but to charge ice cubes that isnt even 1 glass for 5000, when 1 sack of icecube is even only 11,000!!!! Seruously??? Because half of my ice coffee isnt cold anymore so i just agree. It was 6.15pm when the waitress came to me and ask whether i want to order some more or not i want to specifically underline this sentence, because she added this next sentence "because you already sit there a long time" she said. I said no because i was about to finish my work. Honestly i was annoy at this point and i said to her: i came here often already no problem before, so she said yea this is our new regulation, after 2-3 hours should order some more. And i just answer ya i was about to leave. This is for me already like saying if you dont want to order more please leave. Again disclaimer: if the cafe is full and someone new come that wants to sit there i understood that they ask other that has no order anymore to leave. But since i've been there from 2pm the cafe isnt full at all, there are still lots of empty spaces and the staff politely shooshoo the customer. What makes me more annoyed is when i saw the bill there wasnt even ice cube menu on the cashier, they write added charge or something and manually enter ice cube under it. IF ITS THEIR NEW REGULATION THEY CHARGE ICE, THEY SHOULD PRINT IT ON THE MENU OR CASHIER. So i assume, they just charged ice cubes to me. AND THEY EVEN ADD TAX AND SERVICE TO THE ICE CUBES. Ice cubes are basically free, they charged it and even put tax and service, i dont even ask them to bring it for me i go get it myselr they dont even bother to say let me bring it to you, NO. Is that how you treated your regular customer??? So if now you charged 5k for ice cubes, ask people to order more after 3 hours, WHY NOT WRITE IT ON THE MENU AND THERE IS MINIMUM CHARGE IF YOU SIT MORE THAN 3 HOURS?? So i can again assume that this new regulation only valid for me. The restaurant is not even half full.
I always recommend amolas, to even some dates that i had was in Amolas, but their staff treated me this way. Its not like i always only order coffee. So dear owner please fix this. Such a shame if i cant go here anymore just because ice cubes and only ordering 1 item and i get mistreated badly and not fair. I'm not even come here daily. Only sometimes on saturdays. I didnt take any photo of the receipt because i want to just let it go due to how much i love the place but after talking with someone else about this, i decided to just write review in the hopes that next time they dont mistreated people this way and be...

I decided to write this review because the staff is just the most friendliest people I've ever met in Bali. I've been living in Bali for a year+ and have tried lots of cafes for work, by far this is the best one.
LOCATION: 5/5 🌟 It's surprisingly quiet given the fact that it's situated right in the middle of Canggu close to 1 of the main streets(Jl Batu Bolong).
SUITABLE FOR WORK? 5/5 🌟 Super spacious with lots of tables 2 AC areas(important for focus), and an outdoor area with lots of nature and a pool. WIFI speed: 26mbps download(considered fast), 7mbps upload Power point at every table Plenty of tables for 1 person or 6 I'd say 80% of the people come here to work while enjoying the food and drinks Also with a high-chair outdoor area, a bit too hot for me + sound of traffic
ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 🌟 Mostly calm and quiet (when the guests are not doing conference call or laughing non-stop when they flirt LOL) Choice of music is thoughtful - this is super important, to me music is a big part of the customer experience design and branding effort. They play cozy chill-hop style playlists and the volume is comfortable like a faint background music.
COFFEE: 5/5 🌟 Great coffee with options of almond and oat milk. I like that they serve their coffee with a resin art wooden board which mimics the aerial view of the waves on the beach (pretty!), and always comes with a piece of complimentary chocolate chip cookie.
FOOD: 3.5/5 🌟 The best gado gado I've ever tried! I also love their roasted cauliflower as a snack. They offer quite a lot of options for the most common western meals, and affordable simple local dishes. I like that the menu is very thoughtful, they offer a set of 4-6 dishes that match well with either fish, chicken, pork, or beef. Not a lot of options for vegetarian food but the gado gado is my fave.
PRICE 4/5🌟 long black 25k IDR latte 30k IDR vegan milk: oat 15k, almond 20k chicken parmigiana 85k gado gado 50k
HOSPITALITY: 10 🌟 The staff is always friendly, smiling, and ready to help. The owner should give them a raise, they deserve it. One day, it rained heavily and a staff named Satria kindly offered me a raincoat without even asking. This warmed my heart. And Zee is a very kind and warm staff!
Overall, I highly recommend this place for digital nomads who want a location where they can work with focused,...
Read moreI’d like to share something that just happened. While eating scrambled eggs, I bit into something hard, and when I spat it out, I found a small white piece that looked like plastic. (Not taking a picture of it is my biggest regret.) I'm usually not too bothered by things like this and planned to keep eating, but I thought I should mention it, so I showed it to a staff and said I was fine to continue eating, and they didn’t need to replace the dish. The first staff who came over took the piece without apologizing, just saying they’d check on it. A minute or two passed, and they hadn’t returned, so I waited without eating. Another staff came over, saying they’d checked the kitchen, and it was very clean, so they didn’t think it could be plastic or knew what it was. Still, there was no apology. I started to get frustrated and asked why they hadn’t apologized first, especially when a foreign object was found in the food. Only then did they say ‘sorry’ and offer a free dessert, like ice cream or cake. (I didn't need it) By this point, I’d lost my appetite and didn’t want to stay there any longer, so I said I would leave without paying. They told me I still needed to pay for the tomato soup and still water. As I went to pay, I grew even angrier, explaining that I’d spent my time to come here and that my entire experience had been ruined. I couldn’t understand why I still had to pay when I’d given up on the food because of restaurant's fault. (leaving more than two-thirds of it). The staff responded that the kitchen was perfectly clean and even asked "if I’d recently had dental work done" (a terrible remark). I swear I haven’t, and even if I had, it wouldn’t involve cheap plastic like that. In the end, they told me I didn’t need to pay, so I left without doing so.
