Feels like a typical business hotel. The rooms are large but soulless and in need of remodeling. Fitted carpet unsuccessfully covers an uneven floor. And the sofa, armchair, and desk chair fabric looks dated and, along with the carpet, retains stale smells - particularly cigarette smoke! The worst design crime is the layout of the large bed within the room - way offset to the flat screen TV on the wall - with NO bedside cabinets OR bedside lamps! Seriously! For a room of this size and cost the lighting is strikingly poor. I would suggest the management look at the competition and see some of the beautifully laid out and designed rooms that can be found in other hotels, then get these rooms refurbished ASAP.
Given how disappointing the rooms are I was pleasantly surprised by the rooftop swimming pool, fitness room and restaurant. All are quite impressive.
However, I do have a serious safety concern with the infinity pool. The pool is surrounded with a wall the width of which might be tempting for some people - children? - to try and walk around. On the other side of the wall is an approximate 3 to 5 meter drop into a concrete well with structural concrete cross support struts and an assortment of pipes, cables etc. This is very dangerous. Usually with infinity pools, there is a very short drop to a - sometimes pebble covered - water drain with a metal or plastic grid in order for overflowing water from the edge of the infinity pool to return to the filtering and pumping system of the pool. I would seriously suggest that the management rectify this 'accident waiting to happen' urgently.

Read moreMy family stayed at this hotel less than a month ago. Frankly, they thought it was a very nice place with very helpful and friendly staff. The parking space could use some work, but I can forgive this shortcoming. However, there is one drawback and, unfortunately, it is a big drawback especially for non-smokers and that is the absence of non-smoking rooms.
When we checked in, we specifically requested a non-smoking room. Upon reaching the room, it became immediately apparent that people had been smoking in the room previously. When we asked the staff, we were told that all the rooms were non-smoking but guests could request ashtrays to use in the room on request. That effectively means that there are NO non-smoking rooms at this hotel. They offered an air-cleaning machine to be placed in the room that helped somewhat. Getting rid of the smell of cigarette smoke in the air is one thing, but getting the smell out of the furnishings like carpets and drapes is very difficult.
Needless to say, to a family of non-smokers, this is an absolute dealbreaker. I do not mind if some rooms are kept as smoking rooms, but to have no non-smoking rooms is a travesty. People should have the option of not inhaling cigarette smoke residue at a hotel of this caliber. So long as this does not change, we will not be staying here again. Such a shame, though, since I cannot fault anything else...
Read moreI do not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel, exorbitant price for a very low quality room & service. The carpet in the guest room was very dusty, the TV was grainy (ALL CHANNELS), the furniture was all aging and seems to never been cleaned at all.
Seems like I had to pay the extra price for a set of damp pillows in my room. It was super creepy as I laid my head down smelling the damp pillows like someone had just sweat all over it, and to add to that all the bathroom towels are now greyish white.
To top it all, grainy TV is never complete without WiFi that barely works lol. Breakfast was also very sad, super bland and generic choice. I decided to just walk out of the restaurant immediately and enjoy Jogja's culinary heaven outside the hellish hotel. Not to mention, throughout my stay, the hotel staff were super unhelpful and made simple things become complicated (seems like the hotel management has a "make your guest uncomfortable and fussed" policy).
Honestly, this hotel should only be your very last choice when staying...
