My wife and myself are long term travelers and stayed for 5 nights at Rosalinas place.||||Here is why we give it a 4 star:||||- location: located at the end of the town just near the main street, although not directly on it (I.e. less noisy), the place is a good base to explore the surroundings. You need however to walk a bit until decent food options can be reached. There is a small Supermarket near the place||||- the room: the rooms are basic but provide everything you need. You can expect just a bed and a basic washroom. They are clean but not refreshed daily. Soap is provided. ||||- logistics: Rantepao guides know the place and you can easily find one here as they lure around to find some clients (but are not intrusive or insisting). We pre-booked Samuel (+ +62 813-5466-8799 ) based on a recommendation and we were not disappointed at all. He managed to find us some “insider” stuff like a bullfight and a real underground cock fight. Samuel is a former English teacher and very literate about the region. Also, you can rent a motorbike right at the place at a comparatively cheap price. ||||- food: the food at Rosalinas place is surprisingly good! Honestly speaking: after having tried each evening another restaurant in Rantepao, we ended up eating the last day at Rosalinas place and it was the most delicious dish we had in Rantepao and this at a very...
Read moreWe had a very nice stay at the homestay of Enos and Rosalina. It is very well maintained and furnished and superclean - the room.had an own bathroom and Fan. |The breakfast they serve was super yummy with fresh juice and fruits. |Both of owners were super friendly and helpful. They took.much care of me after I had a small injury after being in the mountains and contacted people for traditional Massage and have me some crotches to walk. I would highly recommend to stay there. Plus I had the feeling that it is not that noisy compared to other places. Keep in mind that Rantepao is an important City and might get busy in traffick. ||If staying with them you have a Chance to meet Amos who is guiding and can show you all the Beauty of Toraja cultural heritage. |Amos and Enos together are a great company at all time. I would highly recommend to visit them and spent time with them. If You have any question regarding the area just ask them. They will even offer you whatever they value as a good experience to Explore the region. |Enos also rents quality scooters/bikes.|Dont Rush - take your time and enjoy the scenery of this beautiful region. Honestly, dont rush. Going by scooter made us wanna stop every 5 Minutes just to enjoy it. It was very Unique and the Toraja people seemed extra gentle and kind. I...
Read moreWe found this fantastic place last minute and feel so lucky. This was not simply a place to sleep -- it was the complete hosting experience we won't forget. I found Enos on WhatsApp after we were already in Makassar. He was also there and we all rode night buses and met at the house in Rantepao. Even though the night bus arrived at 5:30am, I had let Enos know we were close. He sent word to Rosalina, who welcomed us with a clean room, a comfy bed, and delicious banana pancakes. That's just one example of how they turned stressful travel into a relaxing time. Enos was a great driver+guide around the area, a quick friend, and fun to be around. We did 3 days touring, which included a complete funeral ceremony for a family he knows. Enos knows everybody. The view of the rice field from the terrace may be the best in town, breakfast is included, the wifi is decently fast, there's free coffee and tea all day, and there's an honor system fridge with Bintang and other drinks. We were welcomed like family members and helped with anything from rides to town, to laundry (thank baby Jesus), to ordering food delivery, to helping us recover a lost item from the previous bus ride! We'll definitely be back and can't recommend Rosalina and...
