We stayed in a family cottage for 3 nights in Bagus Bay Homestay and really enjoyed! The very best and important thing is that their beds are equipped with mosquito net which comes really handy wjen you wanna sleep free of the mosquito bite! The cottage looks really nice and fairly clean! You'd better have your own soap and shampoo with you if you go there! we didn't take any food there cause we spent most of ths day out of tuk-tuk but whenever we left or came back, there were alot of people sitting around, playing games and drinking! it looks like a friendly place to sit aroud and chat with others and have a nice time!||Ghe view is quite beautiful! ||However, we woke up early most of the time by the sound of the birds which I think is the case for most of the places in tuk-tuk! But that wasn't really bothering cause we wanted to get up early anyways to discover the island!||They also hold a traditional dance 3 days a week (if I'm not mistaken) but we weren't there to watch it all!||All in all it was a nice place for us to stay and I recommend it to other travellers! ||Especially if you don't have the budget limitation, I think the family room ia quiet more convinient and not so much...
Read moreI stayed in the single room here and it was fine. Bed wasn’t too comfortable and room got stiflingly hot at night (there was no fan/aircon). Shower was ok but would fluctuate between boiling hot and freezing cold. There was a single canoe which is advertised as free for guests but it was full of water and had a hole in it.||I found the staff quite unfriendly and grumpy. With the exception of the nice guy with long hair. The rest of them never smiled and just scowled at you whenever you dared to try and organise anything or order food. I always felt like I was bothering them when I wanted to ask for something.||Also I’ve been in indonesia for 1 month and this is the most disappointing food I’ve ever had. I had several meals here - Western, Indonesian and breakfasts. And all of them were consistently bad. And not particularly cheap either. ||There is a dance/music night every Wednesday and Saturday evening which was quite sweet - there’s a local school or kid’s dance group which sends their kids to perform dancing for the evening for about 45mins. Then the adults take over and play/sing traditional Batak things. It’s a chill evening.||Location is pretty good. Not too far away...
Read moreI fell in love with the place! It is huge and has a lot of public areas including large indoors and outdoors restaurant, badminton field, mini golf area, swings, and sunbathing area at the beach. It is green and homey.
The rooms are nice and large, priced at insanely affordable prices. We stayed here for 4 nights. 2 nights in the Rp200K/night room (which is a good price anyway) but moved when we found out we could get a Rp100K one. Hot water didn't work in the first room but strangely worked in the cheaper room.
I loved chilling at the resto. It has nice wooden chairs and tables. The food is not bad but a bit off sometimes. My boyfriend ordered a veggie taco and later when it came, we were surprised to see what seemed to be a calzone with capcay inside. Lol. They have traditional Sigale-gale Batak traditional dance performance at the restaurant every Saturday and Wednesday night, which we had the opportunity to watch the first night we got there.
10/10...
