The only reason I was in Ciampino is for business. It's really such a dull place next time I'd definitely enjoy staying in Rome and commute|The only thing this hotel has going for it is the warm welcome. After that, for me it's not the kind of place I want to stay|The rooms are all leading from a central walkway which means a constant flow of visitors if the hotel is busy. I like to sleep with my window open but not possible in this case as it would be so easy just to clear my into the room and in any case you have no privacy from people trying to get to their rooms|Small bedroom with the most uncomfortable bed and pillows I've slept in for some time, and I average 26 weeks a year in hotels around the world!|I was not happy with the cleaning since the shower had mould growing on the wall, my last day I had no soap and my bed , where I had accidentally spilled something on day one, not had a change of sheet.|Breakfast was appalling even by Italy an standards. The cheapest of yoghurt, sweetened, no fruit , no protein and either packet jam or Nutella to go on a dried biscuit. The croissants were rock hard and stale, the juice a sugary squash not the real thing. Thank goodness for real coffee|But my biggest complaint is concerning the paper thin walls. I was able to hear everything going on in the rooms around me, many of which should have remained private! I was woken several times each night and also the early hours by people leaving / arriving at the hotel from the nearby airport|On second thoughts, this hotel deserves only one star, and not...
Read moreHotel Louis II was a quick one night stay because we needed to catch a very early flight on Ryanair (see review for this poor excuse of an airline) to Athens from Ciampino Airport the next day. The hotel is a bit rundown and not very well maintained. The room itself is dated and does not feel very clean. The towels were the only highlight. We left really early in the morning and the complimentary breakfast items were stale and limited. They helped us arrange a taxi ride to Ciampino, which was probably 8-10 minutes distance, but cost 40 Euros (pretty steep) and the driver rushed us, wouldn’t allow any food or drink in his new van, drove wildly to the airport, and then dumped us off on the outskirt of the airport, pointing to “walk there” as he rushed back into his van. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again or use their services. This was a one and...
Read moreProbably like many we only booked this hotel due its proximity to the airport. To be honest I was disappointed when I first saw our room. It wasn't a bad size but it was drab, dark and gloomy and the aircon was so noisy. The bathroom was run down and really small but the actual shower had good pressure. It is quite a walk from the station especially with luggage. On the upside the staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very basic, I did enjoy a nice coffee and croissant but beyond that there was next to no choice. It is a shame as this place could be great if it were to undergo renovations but it does need a lot of money spent on it. Would we stay again -...
