Amazing hotel where they can do anything for you. Particularly remember the moment the barman went to fetch a fresh bottle of Laphroaig Single Malt as there wasn't enough left in the one at the bar for their very generous portions. He didn't even put any of the old bottle in my glass using only the fresh bottle. I mean what manners.. absolutely delightful place. Fresh bar snacks always given with each drink order before our often 6 course meal if you include the salad and h'orderves, sometimes an appetizer and a starter served also. Decor is Alpine. A new hotel made in a good solid old traditional alpine style with no expense spared on construction. Also a service to transport you to and from Ski Lifts. Situated right in the centre of the village opposite a red and black run open for night skiing twice weekly. Breakfast is wonderfully diverse and nutritious.. squeeze your own orange juice or create a vegetable drink. Waitresses very attentive and always willing to help as you negotiate the breakfast buffett. The only let downs were the Crystal Ski Reps. The coach driver at the airport asked ours if we knew where we were going once in the villages.. the rep yelled 'yeah they'll be fine..' and jumped off. We got dropped in Village and luckily managed to follow a few signs to find our hotel. Also the rep in the village made no appearance. Just wrote a letter to our room and few emails (to which you couldn't reply) about things to do. Things which we'd already discovered for ourselves before receiving said emails. Think the days of the holiday rep are slowly dying off. Anyway I highly recommend the hotel, it certainly deserves a visit if you are considering seeing the area and the World Heritage Site - The Dolomites. One last thing.. we were able to ski from the village, catch lifts to the Sella Ronda, one day going clockwise and another anti clockwise and get back without buses or trains. Just skiing and ski lifts. Also visited the Marmolada Glacier this...
Read moreTruly outstanding - Marriot and Hilton take note!||Fantastic hotel in a beautiful traditional Italian village. Set back one street back from the main street (a few hundred yards away) and surrounded by private dwellings, the only thing you will hear is the church bells. ||The hotel is truly immaculate every moment of every day. It has all the facilities of a larger hotel but is not over sized and thus you often feel that you are staying at a large country home rather than hotel. Breakfast is of a high quality with plenty to choose from.||The spa facilities are of a high standard with a steam room, sauna, showers and loungers inside and outside a hot tub and log cabin sauna. Perfect after a day on the slopes.||There is a boot room with heated ski lockers, one allocated to each room.||There is a lovely bar in the hotel and prices are as reasonable as elsewhere in the village e.g. 5.50 Euros a pint. ||Rooms are nice and comfortable with a good sized bathroom and balcony. The double is made of two separate mattresses with separate quilts, a real plus for a good nights sleep. Each room has a ruck sack and 2 sets of walking polls.||Of particular mention must be the staff, who can’t do enough for you. Alicia needs a special mention. She was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. ||The staff will recommend local restaurants, though all of the ones we went to were fantastic. (Book for Friday/Saturday as the town is busier) There are 2 that you will receive 10% discount on as a resident of the hotel. One, Vecchio Mulino, is a stone’s throw away and the best of the bunch.||If you like a high quality hotel in a lovely traditional Italian village that has all you need but has a relaxed vibe and is peaceful in the evening this is the place. If you want party central a livelier resort is for you.||We used a hire car which I recommend as you can reach other ski lifts and the main Sella Ronda quicker although you can also reach this area from the lifts/slopes...
Read moreThis was our second stay at Hotel Sas Morin. We came back a second year because we enjoyed our stay so much the first time. The number one thing I have to mention is the staff hospitality, especially Alessia, but all of them in the end. They are extremely kind, go out of their way to accommodate guest requests if possible and will make your stay infinitely comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel rooms are very nice, have everything you could need in a vacation and have a really nice view of the mountains. The location of the hotel is superb, in a quaint cute little village with both a local ski slope and good restaurants and shops, there is also a thermal centre. If you wanted to go skiing on the Sella Ronda, it is connected via the local ski slope or you can take the skibus which runs frequently or you can take a short 10min drive by car if you have one. There is a cycling/walking path in the valley you can take if you don’t want to go skiing and the hotel offers multiple adventures and trips which the staff will be more than happy to arrange for you. The breakfast is excellent, with everything you could possibly want and need and more, and the food is good and fresh. The hotel also has its own spa amenities, with two indoor saunas and one outdoor sauna and a whirlpool which is perfect to unwind in after a cold day of skiing. |All in all, this is one of our favourite hotels in the italian Dolomites and is definitely the place we will return to each time we are there. 10/10...
