Due to good products the food in this restaurant was good. I recommend the meat dishes in this restaurant, it’s tender and delicious. We had a delicious carpaccio and different kinds of steaks. They are big, tender and tasty. The portion size was very big (almost to big) and presentation was average.
I don’t recommend the side dishes. The steamed vegetables looked like they were from a microwave package, the side salad was dry and not very tasty and the fried potatoes were almost like mashed potatoes. But the grilled vegetables were nice!
The menu card was very confusing. There were so many meals in it. The (polish) translation was very bad and more confusing than if they just had given us the Italian version.
Also, the service was quite confusing. Not only did they serve the meals in a weird order, they also just showed the dishes to let us guess which meal it was and one time made a mistake and gave us a meal we didn’t order. Keep in mind we were with a big...
Read moreWe went to eat at vecchio mulino this evening. A waitress came immediately to explain some special dishes, she has been very nice. We chose some dishes to share. The fried mushrooms which seem to be frozen. The spätzle which were decent but not super tasty. We ended with a deer beef arrived together with the sides (potatoes and steamed vegetables) which were frozen vegetables… the taste was missing… We just want to note that despite the non-tasty food the waiter was not even nice. Indeed, just after the order we specifically asked to change the potatoes with some veggies. In the end both dishes has been served despite the request. When we asked to take back the potatoes, the waiter said that it was ordered like this and she stopped being nice and hear us. We had to keep the frozen potatoes and to pay for the them. The place is nice but food and service should to...
Read moreDefinitely worth a visit! We have visited Vecchio Mulino in March 2017 twice while on a week long holiday, which already says a bit. If you are looking for proper regional cuisine around Pozza di Fassa, look no further. Be mindful though that a) you won't get a chance to order a pizza b) the desserts are just fine will not blow you away (though will be at least satifactory / good). The wine list is quite extensive and again full of offerings bottled in the region. Personally, I had a mixed feeling about the service, while the waitress was super nice at all times and deserved her tip, the waiter one night seemed to be a little more unhappy. I can recommend the fish ravioli, the Vecchio Mulino pasta (even though it is rather heavy Tirolean dish rather than a light Mediterranean one) and the speck/ham & cheese...
