Clean accommodation, in a great location. Close to the lake, shops and town centre. The lady who cleans is very helpful. Which is more than can be said for the owner.

Pictures show an attractive building in what appears to be set in the grounds of a swimming pool - you'd be mistaken in believing this image. There is no pool and the side of Cristine is un-attractive.

The apartment has an unattractive side entrance. The kitchen facilities are poor, only offering minimal cutlery and plates, 1 pan, 2 rings, a coffee machine. No kettle, microwave ,grill, toaster or iron. The shower is very small. Wouldn't do if you were big or wanted to shave your legs. The bed which should have been a double was 2 singles cable tied together. Very uncomfortable. There was a nice little balcony with table, chairs and ashtray. strange because appartment was meant to be non smoking.

I was told to look at the pictures to realise a double is 2 singles together and that is what I should expect. However on that basis I should expect a pool. I didn't get one of those either.

Upon further inspection on what appears to be a modern appartment with a smoke alarm system , is that all the fire alarm sounders are covered. This means the fire alarm would not go off in the event of smoke or fire. The sounders are covered in communal areas and all other apartments. This can delay the fire alarm going off by 30 minutes. I told the owner who was uninterested.

I can put up with most things, but I will not put up with an owner who does not care about the safety of the residents.

I asked to cancel early. He would not let me. So I knocked on other appartment doors letting them know of the dangers. 30 minutes later I was released from the agreement.

So my message to the owner is "remove the covers of the smoke alarm sounders in the whole building, not just your office. Also check it works because non of the led lights on sounders were on".

I will be back next year, i will just walk in and Check you've removed covers and I will set your alarms off if they work. I can do this because main entrance doors are left open all day. You are hardly in your office. So...

We wanted somewhere to crash out after a hard day being a tourist in this fantastic area.||||Hotels come at a premium, as do most acomadations in this tourist area.||However, based on other TA reviews this fitted our requirements. We chose a lake view room. The owner speaks very little English but was expecting us and showed us to our apartment. I understand there are 2 owners Mario & Carlo, I don't know which was the one we saw but he is a charming gentleman. I suspect this is a popular choice with German tourist as most of the cars parked were German registered.||||We were shown where everything was, how the safe works, which key does what, how the A/C worked and how to raise and lower the shutter.||As it is a self catering apartment it comes with basic cooking and eating equipment. We ate out but had breakfast and snacks using our own food, which worked out well.||As I say it is basic but the view over the lake from the balcony was terrific!||||The bathroom has a very small shower, but other than that all is well and functions perfectly.||||Maybe the property is a little outdated but the rooms are clean and decorated to maintain the clean and functional appearance.||||At night with the shutter down the room was very quiet, we slept great on the comfortable bed, albeit they are 2 singles joined together.||||There is free parking on the property but it is a little tight even worse when a thoughtless fellow resident didn't park their car properly! German registered Audi Esate car!||||So if your looking for somewhere sensibly priced, with no thrills and want the option of looking over the lake without paying a Kings Ransome this is a ideal place.||It is also ideally situated for the local restaurants and attractions.||||Recommended, but set out your expectations...

We checked in and the man at the desk did not show us to our room.... Rather, he just pointed us in the direction. ||We had a lake facing room. The view was obviously beautiful, but as you can see from pictures the balconies are not private. Your neighbours are close by either side. Suggestion: It would have been nice to have sun loungers on the balconies facing the lake too. ||The room was extremely basic. And it felt unclean and out dated. ||The bathroom was the worst part. Reading other reviews nobody has really highlighted how bad the bathrooms are. I don't know if some have been refurbished and we were just unlucky. But our toilet smelled awful when we arrived and continued to smell badly the whole time we stayed. The shower was small and horrible, dirt and mould. It was hardly bare-able, but that combined with the smell... Not ok.||A positive is that it is quite close to the centre, you can walk along the lake front to the centre and it takes about 20 mins. Or walk along the main road but that is quite busy and not picturesque.||The parking is also quite dodgy. We had a small car so we could fit in. But it is tight!||I wouldn't stay here again, I recommend finding somewhere else within your budget. Maybe sacrifice the nice view for a nicer apartment. Because you can always sit out at a cafe on the lake front and look at the view. You probably don't need an apartment view (unless you are planning on spending your holiday in your room)!
